    Korea Open 2009: Day 2 (Round 1) Wednesday January 14

    In the Mens Singles, we find some big contingents of teammates, namely;
    7 from MAS
    6 from KOR
    5 from IND

    A interesting match to follow could be:
    Kenichi Tago [JPN] vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [INA].

    Good Luck to all participants.

    In the Womens Singles, a good match to follow could be:
    Pia Zebadiah Bernadet [INA] vs Lydia Cheah [MAS]

    Men's Singles
    Kuan Beng Hong vs Simon Santoso [8] -- with Sony Dwi Kuncoro's withdrawal due to injury, Simon should make use of this chance to progress to at least SF round.

    Kenichi Tago vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono -- likewise for Andre, he has a golden opportunity to reach the QF if he can beat Tago and the Indian player.

    Men's Doubles
    Chung Eui Seok/Kim Dae Yun vs Hendra Aprida Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra -- AG/Alvent should start their Korean SS campaign with another victory.

    Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan vs Zolzaya Munkhbaatar/Enkhbat Olonbayar -- should be a breeze for Bona/Ahsan.

    Fernando Kurniawan/Lingga Lie vs Michal Logosz/Robert Mateusiak -- it's another learning experience for Edo/Lingga against one of the most experienced European pair. It will be a bonus if they can beat the Polish pair.

    Women's Singles
    Pia Bernadet Zebadiah vs Lydia Cheah Li Ya -- a 50-50 match, with the MAS having a slight edge.

    Mixed Doubles
    Han Sang Hoon/Ha Jung Eun vs Flandy Limpele/Anastasia Ruskikh -- a bad draw for Flandy and his new Russian partner. The Korean to take this one.;

    2009 Korea Open SS: 7 Womens Singles have already made it to Round 2

    .
    Agree. If more than 3 MAS Mens Singles can survive Round 1, MAS should be happy. Many MAS fans will be cheering for Kuan Beng Hong when he plays against Simon Santosa (8) [IND]. But as badMania said, Simon is expected to make it to at least the SF round.

    In the Womens Singles, many MAS fans will be cheering for Julia Wong (against Aditi Mutatkar [IND]) and Lydia Cheah (against Pia Zebadiah Bernadet [INA]). By the way, because of smaller entries and a few withdrawals, the following 7 WS have already made it to Round 2, namely;
    Zhou Mi (1) [HKG]
    Tine Rasmussen (2) [DEN]
    Wang Chen (3) [HKG]
    Pi Hongyan (4) [FRA]
    Saina Nehwal (5) [IND]
    Adrianti Firdasari [INA]
    Bae Seung Hee [KOR]

    .
    Agree ... IMHO, SS's chance of winning is much greater than KBH's.

    Let's face it. If KBH wins, Tsunami will hit Indonesia. Unfortunately, Tsunami hits only once in a hundred years.

    Well, I like KBH much more after he left BAM and joined KLRC. It's fortunate that some Malaysian players have a second lease of life after the national team.

    Well, as we know, KBH will be advised by LCW on how to beat SS. So, it won't be the tsunami, but LCW.

    I'm quite sure Julia will win over Aditi but not confident about Lydia against Pia!!

    For MS, I hope MAS can have 3 reps in the next round!
