This is infomercial form the Evil Empire. There will be more female oriented racquets in 2009. Beside the ARC9 which is a great racquet and some members have reviewed it already. There will be a new AT600 which is designed toward the lady player who wants that extra power. As Austin Power said "Smashing Baby". Also there will be more lower end NS racquet. AT700 has new paint job again and I am 75% sure it is also tweeked. All high end MP will be discontinued in US. So get your MP99 while you can. Only mid and lower range MP will continue. All new 9 racquet bags are 2 compartments. So if you want your 3 compartments bag, get the 7829 bag while you can. Here is the bad news. Due to the current currency exchange rate, many of you will see slight to minor price increase in the high end racquet price. So get them before the price goes up. Good news for the plastic shuttle user. There is a new plastic shuttle MAV5000 coming to your Yonex dealer near you. PS. New shoe models for north america. SHB101, SHB101 LTD. There is another one SHB200 I think?
The new rackets for females might be good (male player here but it's nice to know Yonex think about female players too). I'm disapointed to hear about the discontinuation of high end Muscle powers in the US. I think the MP series is quite good and it would be a shame to lose the MP99 worldwide. The bags don't really bother me, 2 compartments is enough. Any idea what the new North America shoes look like and if they'll ever come to the UK?
Usually YY distribute the same shoe model in US and UK. So you guys will get them. I for got to mention, officially these product will be release in March during All England. However, most of you knows, items always arrive late here in US...
Given the global financial turmoil, the question is if what applies to FMCG and personal electronics manufacturers would apply to Yonex as well. If it does, this is probably a bad year to introduce new, high-end models
The only high end model (ARC9) is out. The new AT600 is a mid/high end model. Yes, almost everyone is suffering. I have no bread to eat so I have to eat cake...
I hope that they change the AT700 to original form. I like the original paint scheme more and I think the racket was little more flexible and head heavy then the current one.
i read about a new marketing trend last autumn 2008 regarding the shift to target women. We would see more consumer products tweaked to the women consumers. Frankly i think this is just another way to sell more stuffs. In badminton, i think differentiating men and women models is ok for shoes, clothings, grips, and bags. In term of racket, technical differential between men and women are grey. I dont believe there is a women swing or a men swing style. There are ladies who play like men and some men that plays like ladies (ex. BCL ). However, i'm sure all CEO's are sold to the marketing idea that would sell more stuffs and no evil empire would resist that.
You mean early in Dec? In Sin City? I am just putting out some official info after it has been finalized.
IOW, there is a difference between ladies and men playing style except there are some overlaps. Glad to know I'm not the only one to think BCL plays a little feminine...
