2009 Korea Open SS Quarter-Finals: Lee Chong Wei [MAS] vs Park Sung Hwan [KOR]

    .
This should be the Match of the Day:
Lee Chong Wei [MAS] vs Park Sung Hwan [KOR]

IMHO, 51% to LCW, 49% to PSH.

2009 Korea Open SS: Are patriotic linesmen still existing?

    .
:eek::eek: If that is to happen, it would be most shameful. :(:(:(

It's already well known worldwide, the WORST officiating, even for Asian standard, is running rampant in South Korea.

    Let's see..

..if LCW will be immune to the infamous Korean line-judging and officiating..Looking at the draw, if LCW wins his tilt against PSH, i think he has a great chance to win it all..;)

    Chong Wei will win

Why so pessimistic ? Chong Wei is the world #1 and has been playing one of his best badminton now! Further more, Park is still not in the same league as Chong Wei yet. While it's true, the line judges can tilt the balance of the outcome but I still think Chong Wei will win quite handily. Worst come to worst, just throw the racket at Li Mao :D

    I'm interested..

..to see if PSH will employ a slightly different approach/strategy against LCW and take advantage of his height.

Been told that Umpires are so firm and really pay attention to those calls by "patriotic"linesmen......bad calls still happened but not as bad as last year....anyway...1n 2010 BWF will have INTERNATIONAL linesmen for all Super Series.....good move!

Let me make prediction for ina players...

DIJU V[IMG][IND] Jwala GUTTA[IMG][IND] - [IMG][INA] Wijaya RENDRA [8] [IMG][INA] Meiliana JAUHARI this is 50-50 match chance for both pair....although India has a slight edge

Simon SANTOSO [8][IMG][INA] - [IMG][INA] Andre Kurniawan TEDJONO
Simon should take this.......but expect some fight from Andre....

Wen Hsing CHENG [1][IMG][TPE] Yu Chin CHIEN[IMG][TPE] - [IMG][INA] Shendy Puspa IRAWATI [6] [IMG][INA] Meiliana JAUHARI
Tpe pair still a class ahead of ina pair...but can Mel/Shendy spur an upset here...

Fran KURNIAWAN [7][IMG][INA] Shendy Puspa IRAWATI[IMG][INA] - [IMG][KOR] Yong Dae LEE [2] [IMG][KOR] Hyo Jung LEE
    60-40 for OG Medallist.........

    Mathias BOE [4][IMG][DEN] Carsten MOGENSEN[IMG][DEN] - [IMG][INA] Muhammad AHSAN [IMG][INA] Bona SEPTANO
Den pair is in their good form.....but expect a win from Bona/Ahsan...

    Adrianti FIRDASARI[IMG][INA] - [IMG][DEN] Tine RASMUSSEN [2]
Firda face huge wall.....but she still has a chance once she can reduce her errors....

    all the best for ina..............

Honestly....Vita is so tired after HKG Open then SS Final...she needs a holiday ( she is in central Java now)...also yes....she has no desires to play KOR Open because of last year Cheating and cold weather in Final but it is not her main reason.

Firda had better not give Tine too much respect. Tends to do that against established players like last week against PHY.

She can be competitive, proof of why she was able to beat Saina. In fact could have won in straight games if she were more careful.
