The meeting has been held in Seoul this saturday with all BWF members.

    a. BWF will allow additional tournaments for power nations like INA,MAS,KOR,DEN,CHN, etc with minimum GP Gold.

Malaysia has applied one to be held in July...before or after Thailand Open which has been moved from June to July....because it is tough to have 4 tournaments in a row ( Philippine Open, SS SIN and SS INA Open)...also NZ GP moves to end of July.

    b. BWF will evaluate all SS and in 2010, there will be less SS or same number.
USA may get one SS while China may lose one SS but China may get additional GP Gold with minimum US$ 120000...also new prize money will be added.

All new tournaments have to start in 2009 or the latest 2010, no new tournaments will be allowed in 201 during Olympic qualification year.

    c. Also BWF is going to implement International Line judges for all Super series.

d.also withdrawal or no show penalty may change....

    Boy..

..i hope they're keeping the U.S. Open for that yr. We can split both tourneys between NorCal and SoCal (if both are held in CA)..;)

Looking at the sparse field at KO, BWF should subtract, not add tournaments.

Nevertheless, one SS in North America is the least BWF should do.

BWF is looking to cut down but it will be tough and many wont be happy.
For sure, CHN, MAS, INA, DEN, ENG (AE),KOR and Japan will have their SS so total 7 SS already...USA will get one then it is 8...I am sure Europe want to have 2 SS in Europe especially for Olympic qualification in 2011...so lets see who will get SS....

9 Super Series tourneys for 2010 is enough, IMO..

So, you've got 12 months to cover. The other 3 months will be filled with the TC & UC, World Championships & the SS Masters Finale (if they decide to do one, again). Then fill in the rest of those months with the WJC, GP, GP Gold & other tourneys..
*Not counting the AG because it's not a BWF sanctioned event.
I think BWF should start searching for sponsor(s) and plan ahead/schedule the SS Masters Finale from now on, so it won't conflict with CHN's Winter training schedule.
Plan & do it right and we won't encounter the same incident like late last year.

I do hope US Open (assume that's the SS) will attract more high ranking players. Maybe one more GP as well???

Thats ideal..one SS and 1 GP but been told that it is hard to get sposnor..so lets hope...I think it will be good if US gets one SS and rotate the location...not just California but in East Coast or Midwest to popularize the sport....

good point. even though OCBC is a great location, there are many venues that will probably suffice. oh well, i just want to see is the US will actually receive one SS.

    They should hold..

..the USA SS up in the Bay Area. I'm sure the folks up there are clamoring and enthusiastic for it, if the opportunity arises..:)..I can foresee the San Jose Convention Center being filled to the max..;)

6 SS tournaments plus 1 SS Finals (=7) is enough

    .
IMHO, BWF should reduce the number of SS tournaments, but increase the number of smaller tournaments, such as the GP Gold, GP, International Challenge, etc......

In fact, I would suggest that 6 SS tournaments plus 1 SS Finals (=7) is enough.

However, the number of smaller tournaments should be increased. We need to allow rising stars to gain ranking points to qualify for the SS tournaments ASAP.

Also, if what I stated above can be done, then we can do without the Qualifying Rounds in all the SS tournaments, just like how it's done for the SS Finals.

    This is just my opinion.
