    Hi all,

(I'm posting this in the Equipment forum, as I'm not looking to buy or sell anything, rather to get some tips...)

A friend of mine is going to Shanghai, and has offered to bring home a racquet for me. Now, I'm actually very happy with what I've got at the moment, but since the Cab 20 is such a classic I've been thinking of getting one... or maybe an Iso 900 (Kwun, I guess that's what you would do, right? ;) ).

What should one expect to pay in Shanghai for a Cab 20, or an Iso 900 -- or an MP100 for that matter? Do you think one would find the MP90 there?

If I was looking for value for money, would I perhaps be better off looking for something other than Yonex in Shanghai? Does anybody have experience with, for instance, Kason, which I assume would be a fair bit cheaper?

All input appreciated -- especially if you have any good shop tips in Shanghai... What would you guys get?

Hmm... doesn't anybody have any experience in buying from China? Other than HK? Really?

Thanks, does anybody know what the different prices are? They list several prices, for instance about the Cab 20 it says 2100, 1050, 1050, and 349. What are they? Discounts? Different currencies? If that's 1050 in Chinese Yuan then I might as well get one here in Sweden... Maybe mainland China isn't the right place to buy Yonex products?

    mag,
The red color price is the market price and the orange color is the price after discount and the cab20 for 1050 is chinese dollars and it's cp version which is suppose to be a lot more expensive than any other version if they are real.

Sorry for being such an ignorant bastard, but what is a Chinese dollar? Is that a Yuan or what? If it is, then 1050 for a CP is fair enough I guess... ;)

Anybody got any input on Kason?

Thanks. I've been trying that site for days, and I keep getting a time-out error... Maybe it's just here in my end, or did the Party pull the plug on Bbeshop's subversive activities? ;)

yes, i think it is due to poor connection to europe. I have no problem connecting to it. Two of my co-players currently using kason 98? (silver and green one) and they seem to like it and stop using their yonex (tisp sx, iso300). They bought it from a chinese junior player from canada but was representling china at that time.

    hey mag,
ever thought about getting you an AS-1.
It's a nice racket (I've just bought 3 for myself)
and very cheap here in Germany right now.
I've got them for 60 Euro each.
    By the way:
could you already copy the videos for me?

60 Euros is a terrific price for an AS-1 indeed! But I have more or less given up on Carlton. As it happens, my doubles partner is looking to buy one though... Where did you get yours, Olli?

And yes, I'm back from vacations etc so I will get your tapes sorted. Sorry that it's taken so long, but I will get it done, promise! My club season starts next week, so then I will know whether I can get hold of any older matches too, such as the Rasmussen/Gade one.

    Is it Quality?

    Mag,

Are you giving up on Carltons because of quality issues?

Yes. That was the AB series. It may have gotten better since, but I'm not so eager to find out.
