Taufik is actually a very VERY intelligent person... I can say he is the most intelligent Indonesian badminton player I know...
This decision is the best for everybody! For him, for the PBSI national team, for his coach, etc...

I have the pleasure of meeting TH at WC05 and I spoke to him in my barely passable bahasa language (as if I can still remember to speak at all, wonder how I even pass my exam LOL
). One thing about TH is he is very friendly and can warm the fans. He was in street clothes hanging around the lobby with his mother-in-law and Amy...I approached him for a pic and he similingly accommodate me as he did to all his fans..his mother-in-law said why don't I take a pic of you and TH instead. After that, he signed an autograph for me like he would signed patiently for all his fans, and that is TH for you, you gotta like him...Darn! I wasn't thinking at that time, I should ask for his T-shirt, heck I would even pay for it..there are only 3 signatured T-shirts I would like to collect, i.e TH, LD and LCW and being a baddy fan, I would frame them all and hang them in my basement TV room...hahaha!!!

Rod Laver was the first Tennis player to turn professional?
.
Let's look at our great Australian Tennis player, Rod Laver.
Back in the early 1960's, Tennis was like Badminton with no professional players. I believe Rod Laver was the first Tennis player to turn professional, just like Taufik is doing now. In 1971, Rod Laver became the first professional Tennis player to pass the $1 million mark in total earnings.
Australians are so proud of Rod Laver that we built a Tennis Stadium named after him.
Let's wish that Taufik can do well and that Indonesians can be proud of him the same.

finally he can enjoy doing what he loves best: playing with no pressure, but at the same time motivating himself to do well and excel... All the best to Taufik! He's a great player, nice man off court, and I would like to see him do well...
now he's turned independent, hope he can still win many tournaments, and do well...
All the best for AE 2009! Hope he and LCW can contest a dream final!

2009 All-England: It looks like Taufik is most hungry to win it
.
LCW and LD will be in different halves of the draw.
Assuming that Taufik, LD and LCW were to defeat everyone else, then
Taufik will need to defeat LCW first before meeting LD, or
Taufik will need to defeat LD first before meeting LCW.
And for the 2009 All-England, it looks like Taufik is most hungry to win it.
