Hey guys, I'm a semi-pro badminton player, meaning I'm in the top of my province in Canada senior level. I've been training intensely for 10 years now, 20 hours or more a week during the tournament season. I've come to BC forums a few times already and have been impressed by the dedication of some of its members (quickly: kwun, dinkalot, gollum). I like the pro's sections, guys that have devoted their life to badminton and you gotta respect that. On the other hand, I'm a little bit deceived by the technique section... For 3 years I've been teaching in sports clubs, so I guess I can say I know a bit about badminton. However, I'm still open to learn and to share with you guys. Right away, I'd like to share with you guys my new passion and love : RACKETLON You play against the same opponent ping-pong, badminton, squash and tennis. There is national tournaments and world tournaments: check out RACKETLON CANADA to know more. Well, great to meet you guys! I'll do my best to post interesting stuff here!
^^Welcome..^^ ..to BCDF, RacketlonCanada!..Glad to see another badminton enthusiast promoting this sport up in Canada. Btw, are you in one of the pics (in your link)? Anyway, keep on visiting us, hope to see more of your posts and enjoy surfing here!
hey, welcome RacketlonCanada, what province do you represent? well hope that you enjoy the forms and everything too good thing to have another person passionate about the sport from canada.
(seems like I have lost my post with a windows error grrrr) Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm currently writing an article on my two months professionnal private training in China with ex-2times world champion YangYang. Would anyone like to know more? Also, did anyone here ever try racketlon, or consider trying it? PM me! There must be some good badminton-pingpong players here!
Welcome to Badminton Central You didn't lose your posts... they got automatically blocked. The system doesn't like it when a member punctuates every post with a hyperlink to an external website. After all, embedding is a method commonly employed by spammers.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I reckon I might be pretty good at Racketlon as I'm good at badminton, tennis and squash (albeit not that great at ping pong). Perhaps I'll have to find out if there's any racketlon association thing in the UK.
Danstevens, UK is one of the power house of racketlon. just simply go to racketlon.co.uk and you'll see all the options available to you. I am myself in the top 10 in Canada in racketlon, and was in the international top 100 and my tennis is poor. You just need humility to learn the other sport, and be arrogant to beat the other guy 21-0 . I'm still writing an article on professionnal badminton training, I'll get back to you soon guys.
lol I guess my sponserer Yonex would kill me if I didn't mention it in my introduction "thank you Yonex for your awesome products " Hey I thought I'd never get sponsored and there I am today (not a full sponsorship) So I kinda want to send this message of hope to whoever is dedicated to badminton and put his heart and soul in it. When you put a lot of energy there will be people to support you!
