Well I know that Rajiv Ouspeh does coaching during the week. Don't most international players coach a bit after they retire : they just can't stop .

    Badminton - like a drug :O

No occupations deserve to be laughed at. Some people may be blessed with good paying jobs, some may not. If everyone is an engineer, doc, then who else to play electricians, garbage collectors, etc. As long as it not a crime, every job is honorable. As for baddy players, not everyone can be a LD, TH or LCW who are well rewarded and set for life after baddy, making millions and driving bimmers, these are the lucky ones to be playing a game at the best time in baddy history-to date. I have said before, I respect the devotion and dedication of all pro baddy players (and their parents for financial support) to invest their future in a career that is short, unpredictable and most often not well rewarded. For the LD, TH and LCW, how many KBH, Sairul, Yeoh Kay Bin, etc out there? In CHN, with the top 3 men and women, what happens to the those who cannot crack the top 3 and still playing late into their years. Sometime ago, I read that Tracey Hallem despite ranked #8, need to get sponsor for a flight to a meet, needless to say, she has no coach to go along with her. With empty stadiums, lack of TV $$$ support, commercial/infomercials supports, baddy is going nowhere close to other sports like tennis, soccer, etc despite being the second most played sport in the world.

Don't mention it, I sure know you don't meant what you say...baddy players deserve our respect playing a game to entertain us...I sure wouldn't do what these players do for a career even if I have a slight talent for this sport. I more sympatize those players that don't make it and with late years catching on, have a hard time making a living, and yet here we are sitting on our butt enjoying/watching a game they play to entertain us. I heard before that winning the Vietnam Open amounts to US$1,500 and losing in first round is a couple of hundred bucks or something like that, how that to pay for flight, food, etc. Sure there are heroes in LD, LCW and TH, but too many zeroes in baddy pro players. I love this sport but darn hope that these players are well rewarded, otherwise this game is going nowhere fast.

Actually in GP or GP Gold, you get prize money from round 16 only and Quarter for Double....if you lose 1st or 2nd round in Single...there is no money.....
    In GP US$ 50000, the winner gets US$ 4000..

Being a baddy player is tough job.....always respect them...

Good point. Last year an unknown UK MS tennis player won through to the second round of the Wimbledon finals, but then got knocked out. His prize money? 17,000! (c.$22,000!).

Considering how these people train at least 4-6hours a day, managing a part time job is almost the most they can do. Respect them!!
