    Hello,

Just wanted to introduce a new site for Canadian badminton players.

www.BadmintonLadders.com allows you to set-up ladders for your city/town, school, or club. Once a ladder is created, you can invite others to play. Players may issue challenges within the ladder -- the system will automatically adjust rankings when match scores are entered.

Hopefully, the site will help players find one-another and help to promote the game in Canada.

    Enjoy.

I actually like the idea too. I'm not crazy about, the 3 day timeline though. Once you are challenged you have 3 days to play and post your results. Seems too short a timeline to organize both peoples schedule and play a game. I think 5-6 days is more reasonable.

    Challenge Timeout period ...

    Hello,

When a ladder is created the challenge timeout may be set from 3 to 14 days and can be changed after the ladder is created.

In the next release, the new default is 5 days.

Overall, a fairly useful application. If only you could do tournament hosting (trees) and then I'd have no use for tournamentsoftware anymore :D

    Thanks,

If enough players start to use the site, then perhaps I will look into adding a tournament feature... we'll see...

    Hey bdaviduck,

Score can be recorded, ranking and stats do not update though. Maybe it takes time?

    Hi GunBlade008,

Here is how score entry works:

    1. You and your opponent play your match.

    2. You OR your opponent enter the match scores.

    3. Before scores are "posted" and stats updated the player that did NOT enter the scores, must log in and agree to the scores entered. If they agree, then they may POST the scores -- this will cause the ladder rankings to be updated.

If a player does NOT agree with the scores entered, then they can edit the scores. Then the other player must log in and agree to post the scores -- this can go back and forth until both players agree to the scores or the system cancels the challenge.

The above procedure prevents a player from entering and posting scores for a challenge made, but never played -- in this system, both players must agree on the scores entered before the scores can be posted. A bit of a pain, but it keeps everyone honest.

Also, if you are the Administrator of the ladder, then you can enter and post results on behalf of the players in a match.

    B
