Default The Adventures of Markis Kido

as reported today..Markis Kido, Bona and Pia decided to quit National team due to disagreement about value of the contract....I hope they could change their mind.

Kido's partner, Hendra Setiawan, decides to stay with National Team, as well as M.Ahsan ( Bona's partner)...

If this happens, not good news for their All England's bid...

wow, if he has quit the national team, does that mean he can no longer pair up with hendra?
that would be a big blow indeed.

Aren't Hendrawan and Hendra Setiawan brothers-in law?
That would make it difficult for Setiawan to leave the team

Go for Private sponsorship. Its bad news for INA..and for badminton overall. Fan wise.. i'm happy for Malaysia.
However i hope he can either find a sponsor or get an agreement with the contract.

Well, they're not even related by blood, more by marriage .
But if Setiawan goes private together with Kido, being the current OG champ & 2007 WC Champ, they shouldnt have much trouble looking for sponsors.

For the partnerships of Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan as well as Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan, it may be bad news...but I will think that it's a positive move for badminton in INA! If players like Hendra A.G./Alvent Yulianto can secure sponsorships that will allow them to represent INA as professional players, the National Team will have a few more empty slots to really develop the young players who are really our future.

We can see Wifqi/Afiat, Rizky/Albert, or even other younger pairs with potential like Ullin/Berry being exposed early to int tourneys in their careers.

Now, if the siblings are really out, Sigit Pamungkas could well pair up Hendra Setiawan with another young and powerful smasher (like Fernando Kurniawan perhaps)?

    Good God!...no LYD/JJS and Kido/Setiawan?
What kind of AE will we have here?

In other side, things will go better for Malaysian doubles.
But it's best if they can win with the presence of world top seed

In the Kompas article, it was mentioned that only a handful of players mentioned had agreed to sign the contract with PBSI: Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Simon Santoso, and Hendra Setiawan.

That will leave the fates of Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir and Vita Marissa (the 3 other names in the article) still open to speculation.....

..a few more weeks to work things out, before the AE. So, hopefully, we'll see any updated news, if any, by the time German/Swiss/AE Opens roll around..

*I can picture badMania going and saying to himself "Noooooooo..., my fave MD pair is splitting up!!!"..

If more players were to turn professional, it could only benefit the game.

For a long time now, senile administrators, politicians and groupies have played havoc with badminton's development.

It's time for the players themselves to decide how best to showcase their skills and what they really want to do with their careers

hauge, don't these players have individual contracts with the sponsoring companies? Or are they all covered by some kind of an umbrella agreemment?

That was my initial reaction when I first received the rumour this evening. But after some thought, I think it will benefit INA badminton, although some parties will be greatly affected if the partnerships are really split up. Then, they will have to start from zero again (including Kido and Bona themselves).

Well, I have an upcoming favorite pair...give them 1-2 more years and hopefully they will shine

it's a bad news for me ,actually
because if kido quits from the national team
then, hendra will pair with who??
and it's gonna be a new pair, starting from the zero again
and it's almost near to AE
    wowowowow!
I can't imagine how can be like this ,,
    it's really a breaking news!
