I just posted something on the professional players forum and I went up to #145.
I also just posted on the techniques/training forum and went up to #146.
Maybe posting on the general forum doesn't increase the post count?

it should. and i re-confirmed the setting.
i re-generated all the post counts and your postcount remained at 144. this was before your new post...

Kwun, your 3 posts on this thread all read #12,378, so it's affecting you as well.
I've also looked at a number of other threads in the general forum and the posters count has not increased. It looks like any message in the general forum does not count towards the postcount. At least I wasn't being singled out, feel less paranoid now!

actually, the message count below your name is not related to the post. it is the current post count. if i go back to my first post i ever made, it will still read 12,378 next to it...

Yes, this happens to me as well, my post counter only seems to increase every now and then, it could be as crosscourt suggested that certain forums do not 'count'

i too checked it up... it's increasing for me when I post in general forum. I haven't been actively posting messages these days... will check it up and keep updating my status here.

Yes this section does not increase the number of posts you have.
Which means we can spam spam spam all we like here

Still, it's undeniable that newcomers' words don't hold as much water as the ones whom had been around for a while - it's a mentality thing akin to an intermediate or advanced player talking to a newbie to the sport.
Sad but true, deny it at your own leisure.
