Today, my coach said we don't need to wear eye protection for pre-qualifying for ropssaa, but in ropssaa you have to. Did your coach say the same thing?
If you need goggles in the higher level tournaments, you might as well get used to them in the earlier rounds.
im in yraa and in the finals i noticed some players who wear glasses didnt wear any eye protection... wondering if the glasses count as a goggles? :S
If you wear glasses, you don't need to wear goggles. My cousin who is currently attending HS in Markham told me this.
sweeet alright thanks for the clear up... yea my coach made ppl who wear glasses wear these goggles where you can also wear your glasses at the same time.. they were so bulky and weird.
yep coach made us do the same thing last year those "specials big bulky goggles for glasses" but when we got to the court we just didnt wear them..and nothing happened.
they follow ontario badminton rules, technically ALL tournaments (school and high performance) should enforce the rules. If there are 2 or more players on court, u need goggles...
Our school (TDSB) coach says that we HAVE to wear goggles, no matter whether we have glasses or not. PSP goggles, I believe they called the big ones over glasses. Anything for safety, I guess.
LET ME CLEAR THIS ALL UP FOR YOU NOOBS!! if you go to ofsaa, you need goggles, pre qualifying depends on your region, in yraa, they don't really give a damn. as for the goggles part, if you wear full rimmed glasses, then you don't need goggles, if you wear half rimmed or no rim glasses then you must wear goggles in ofsaa...maybe in regional
Full rimmed doesn't need? I don't think so. http://www.ofsaa.on.ca/site/index.cfm?DSP=Chapter&ID=27 gives you the link to the badminton regulations. Last time I checked, normal glasses don't meet ASTMFE03.
dude, i don't know if you've played at ofssa but a majority of them are chinese, wears glasses, and does not need extra protective gear. I played ofssa for the past 2 years, i think i'd know
My school games start this tuesday and I'm just gonna borrow goggles if I need them. Dunno where to buy them anyways.
Yes for ROPSSAA, you have to wear the glasses. Coach said even if you wear glasses you have to wear over, quite a pain. Plus, on top of that our school is so cheap...we have to use freakin' safety goggles from chem class -_-
