I started playing badminton about 2 years ago. Rite now i am a minor B which is the lowest grade, next grade is minor A, then Junior, then Senior. There is a junior at one of the clubs I play at and he is the best out of al the clubs ive played in.

He is 50 but reali fit, does tug of war, gym 4 nits a week, cud play badminton singles al nit and not get tired.

Ive been trying to beat him since a first played him, the past 6 months, ive finally been able to see weaknesses in his game, I can move him about and force him, where before I was jus trying to not get white washed

But last nit I played him, he beat me first game 21 - 13 so we played 1 more, I was tired but not to bad, he was fine. I got a good lead, 13 - 7 and got to the stage where I was 19 - 12 but he came back to where it was 19 - 19, i was getting very tired and lazy but pushed on and I finally won 21 - 19. :D

I couldnt believe, this has been a goal of mines for 2 years, I finally did it, he is 2 grades above me, and I beat him, forced him into defeat!

Wot bout any1 else out der, ave you eva had any times like this?

I'm happy for you. Its a nice feeling winning against an opponent that you wanted to beat badly. I still have lots more of opponents i want to beat... but i have to beat myself 1st as of now... too heavy to move. heheheh

Good job. Now what you need to do is to beat him more consistently.

ah, true, the first win is sweet, but true progress should be judged over a number of games.

Good Job. I know the feelings because there's this Indonesian man at the gym where I play and he's good. He used to represent his island to compete against other island. He said that he once spared against Hermawan Susanto, and Joko Suprianto. He said that they made mince meat out of him.

He's about 12 years older then I am so age was on my side. The thing is that, even I've beaten in Singles and doubles before, I still consider him the best at where I'm playing. The experience and knowledge that he brings to the game is just amazing. I'm 100% sure that I won't even be half the player I am now if it wasn't for him.

Anyway, savor the moment and live it up.

Next goal: defeat that nasty "utilisation of full-length words".

yup its a good feeling mate. There was a taiwanese guy i used to train with who was A grade level when i was C grade level. I started training hard and got to B grade. Then i beat him in the State Juniors comp and go regraded to A grade. Was an awesome feeling to beat someone who was regarded at the #1 player for the state. Then i got the #1 state spot :)

Yea 50 is a junior lol. The grading over here is like this starting from the top down: -

Senior - semi professional - enters big tournaments etc, dam good
Junior - has all the shots and footwork etc, really good
Minor A - very good player
    Minor B - every1 from beginner

I am a minor B, hoping to grade up in year or 2 maybe and Kenny the man I beat is a junior grade player, hes good lol
