i was playing doubles the other night and i accidently crashed racquets with my partner and after the game i went to check my racquet. The results were that my partners racquet was fine and mines has either a crack or a scratch on my racquet. Hopfully its not a crack
Very hard to tell from those photos, but it may just be the paint that's damaged. There's nothing you can do about it now anyway - just keep using it as normal and hope it holds up. Good luck. What strings are those btw?
Seems like a AT700 2nd gen if it is most probably it is just the paint. I have the same racket, had a clash no paint chip whatsoever but a big paint chip at the same position as yours when I did a cross court drop but mishit. Your racket seems similar to mine. BG80?
That's a weird looking paint chip. Normally there wouldn't be lines so it's hard to tell. Just as Matt said can you provide better pics?
How the hell do you tell if it's an AT700? Unless I'm missing something. Anyway, if you clashed it, and that big of a paint chip forms, there's probably some damage inside.
First you need to use a better camera with with Macro mode, it's very hard to tell with such low quality picture that's out of focus.
sry guys its the best that my phone could do. Im using BG 80 strings and i'll retake my pics and try to make the quality better. SO far i haven't felt any difference but im still scared
is it deep?? that was what happened to my racquet before. and it was a crack. I still can managed to string it for a few times and playes for ard 6 mths before it crack completely.
its not even dent or deep, all that happened was the paint chipped off. But when i rub it, i don't feel any cracks and it feelss rough/smooth
from the first picture, it looks like a cracked frame to me. only time will tell, your next badminton session should either allay or confirm your fears.
Clearer photos would help, but in general, paint chips don't go that far down on the inside of the frame. I agree with Dreamzz that it is a crack, w/o actually having it here, it's very hard to tell. In all honestly, if your frame shape is still the same, it plays the same, then just keep using it until the day it caves.
