How does Yonex know that you have strung the string over the recommended range after you broke it and sent it for replacement? Wouldn't you have cut the strings by then and its already broken so I just want to know how they can tell.

I think they'd really struggle. The only thing I can think of is by the length of string. Shorter = more tension? Not sure how accurate that would be after strings have snapped/been cut is though.

I think for the time it would take someone suitably qualified to tell what tension the string was at... they'd be cheaper replacing the racket.

from what i've been told it's harder to get warranty if the string is not on the racquet.

Oh, that explains it. And if the string is still on the racquet, they can tell by that.

Keep the string even when it is cut.
For mhigham, you might hit the right note...

    hey there,

I claimed a racket before that was successful without the strings, if you search on the forum for R.I.P AT900T you should see it.

Basically I emailed a photo of my racket to them so that they can see if the racket has a high chance of being able to get a claim hehe!

Personally I would cut the string anyway but my reason was because the strings even at low tension pulled the racket out of shape big time!

Yes, however it's per case basis. It may not work for every case as it is Yonex's discretion.

haha! Totally agree with you ^^

I think you should just email some photos to them and see what they say about it.
