hi, i bought a yonex Arc Saber on Ebay and i know that its a fake, but the serial number is engraved and the year its been made is 07-12-2008... its weird that fakes now have a correct number
It's more like a hit and miss. Sounds like some random date generator ROFL, whihc includes giving some obvious dates which makes no sense. Still, the date and serial have to relate to each other to be valid.
it would be interesting for you to post a pic maybe of the serial no. and maybe the base of the racket?
It is not hard for fakes to have similar serials as the real ones, especially when they want to trick you into buying it.
Ahhh.... I know this fake!!! I've seen it in a local traditional market in Semarang!!! There's some kind of waves in the T joint rite? Actually I'm testing the seller and he's saying it's a bloody second hand racket ... There's some reason these Yonex fakes are flooding anywhere There's people out there who can't even afford the clones. Anyway, my information so far, Arc 10 which is made from September+ (I don't know exactly), has laser engraved. Like this. It's from this thread Arcsaber 10 Detailed Photos
on mine, i cant see the waves on the T joint. the seller on ebay told me that its a Grade A fake. dont know if it play well, i will compare it sathurday to my armortec 700 but i already know which one play the best lol.
no......... it would be good so others can see and compare or take in experience of what to look for. but i must admit, the fakes are getting pretty good. looking very close to real ones. especially the laser engrave and the Y0NEX number 2 even looks real. and yes, its true fakes can easily generate similar serial numbers to real ones since everyone out there knows what to look for in a fake, they will try to overcome it. grade A, grade B or C fakes are all fakes, so will not play like the original thnx for posting the pics up jean_luc50 !!!
what about on the frame, normally fake Arch10 doesn't have many layers on the white/black/red color. You can feel by nail on the white/black/red color on the frame, fake one is one layer, real one has 3 layers.
thats true. i tried it on both arc10s i have, they both feel that way. also, the new ones, on the side of the frame between the red and white parts, there is a roughish texture. its not like most rackets which are glossy or at least very smooth though after playing and mishitting, this might wear off.
the serials are wrong for the date code, but i must admit though, they've got the font looking much closer to the actual fonts used by yonex.
ebay?! whyy?! I completely agree, fakes hardly ever play like the original they are representing. Better off buying Apacs, I own 2 which are great. Ebay should really do something about all the Yonex fakes.
Actually its in the DDMMY format...so it would actually be made in Dec 7 2008. Which sounds more than legit serial #. Since they started to commercially sell the ArcSaber 10 around March/April 2008 depending where you lived.
frankly though, even fake, the process of fabricating a complete usable racket is not something that is simple. there are complicated manufacturing process that they have to go through. and to merely copy a number from a genuine racket is thousands of times simpler.
