Re: Canadian open site
Sorry Zhao. You are not alone in that opinion but I was told that it (Badminton Canada's website) was due for a major overhaul.Originally posted by Zhao

Eva is something like 16/17 yrs old.
i have played against her (in doubles) a yr or two ago, that's when she was 14 or so. and she was already at my level. her parents are really supportive of her and i am sure she has improved tremendously. and being only 16/17, she has excellent future.

Woooooo day 3 was really good. All the matches were quite enjoyable, especially the super close mens doubles match of Brazil upsetting Norway in very close straight sets. And the ultra close mens doubles of Canada defeating England in 3 games.
The stands were actually quite full today too! About 50 tickets were sold today *LOL*
Pretty good compared to yesterdays 10 and 4 on the first day.
I'm sure WWC will have a complete blow by blow play of today's matches so I'll let him fill in all the details
.
CBC arrived at the end of the day to setup for the final two days of competition. So all you out of towners should be able to catch parts of it on the tube. No idea when it will be televised or whether it's live coverage. Here are the times incase it's covered live.
Friday: 3PM-finishing PST
Saturday: 2PM-finishing PST

Was tied up with other stuff. Just when there are good matches going.
Timeless, if you got the time, you will have to do the honours.
I'm not even sure whether I can make it out tomorrow for the semi's.

I'm afraid I haven't had time to post anything about the matches in detail. By the time I get home from line judging it's already quite late and I'm totally bushed.

Can't make it out. Have a wedding to go to.
BTW, CBC will be showing the Open on Nov 9th and 16th at 1:30-2:30 pm (local time). I would think that it would be highlights of the matches of the last couple of days of the tourney.

Just came back from the Canadian Open. I got also late because of the usual kids issues. Missed the Mixed doubles and ladies singles - darn, they said the ladies game was the best of the day. Spent time talking to a girl that was sitting next to me and later found she was the ladies singles winner - Petra Overzier from Germany.
Met with Badrad and wife there and as usual we chatted about badminton. Next time hope you and Cooler could make it. And of course if Canadian Open is held here again.

Yes, we would have a great time watching and analysing the games together. We'll talk about badminton until the janitor kicks us out, hehe. Hey, maybe the CBC camera catch you guys on TV.

CBC Canadian Open TV coverage
Nov. 9 and 16 at 1:30 - 2:30 pm
Here's a quick run down of the final results. I'm afraid I don't recall any of the scores but every game was quite close. Besides the mixed doubles I think every match went to 3 games. It was one loooooooooong day. Just a hazy blur to me after a looooooong week.
Mixed Doubles - England (Roebuck & Mann(?)) wins vs England (Lindley & Munt)
Womens Singles - Germany (Petra Overzier) wins vs England (Julie Mann)
Mens Singles - England (Colin Haughton) wins vs England (Amir Ghaffer)
Womens Doubles - England (don't remember their names) wins vs England (Munt & Wright)
Mens Doubles - Canada (Bourret & Prevoe) wins vs Canada (Beres & Hunter)

Try Cam's court
Cam's court has at least the quarter final results unless he has updated it.
