Doping in Badminton !!!
HI everybody,
What do you about the doping control politic of IBF.
For me, it's really bad. I know that in international tournaments, the doping control are almost non-existent...
Doping can be very efficient for our sport, but IBF are afraid about that.
The new world ranking system is a first step but we need more.

I think the use of steroids, blood doping, etc. is happening, but it's well-concealed.
Does the IBF test the athletes for various things before/after events?

I think that dope testing is good because it ensures that the tournaments are won farely.
even in my school, not naming which, we have dope testing because there are the occasional people who do take drugs, its good to ensure a drug free society.
Even more so in sports, so we know that the players who won the tournaments win them with their skill and not their ability to run for hours non-stop.
I saw this happening at the Singapore Open, i was lucky enough to go back stage, and saw that there was a drug testing centre. There were several players in the area including Chen Hong and Ronald Susilo to name a few. But i wasn't sure exactly who was in the med room at that time. However i feel that dope testing is ok so long everyone accepts it as an act in the best interest for badminton

It's a shame that IBF doesn't want to be more hard whith doping in Badminton.
I'm sure some victories are not very fair...
But with no control, no positive !!!!!!

ahh.... that reminds me Olympic, I believe in such world class event, they do have a dope test before athletes participating in the event and that is also why so many people have been caught taking drugs although they are not intend to cheat
but it just happens.

Well, the IBF has a whole section on doping procedures and regulations.

BTW, they also have updated the rules to reflect the new scoring system.

Is creatine allowed?
Just wondering on this one. I don't take it for badminton specifically, I take it to use at the gym to help me gain weight (I'm skinny). Obviously though it affects things like endurance. Thoughts?

The use of creatine is not classified as doping. It's a supplement. It is THE supplement for elite swimmers, but some still refuse to use it. There has been much debate about its potential side-effects, and too little research to support benefits or drawbacks. I'd be careful if I were you...
