Do you think pro badminton is based on natural talent or they just worked really hard and became top? I think it is natural talent.
I think it's the combination of both. Initially, there should be talent already. Those who have good coordination have a well-developed cerebellum. And the badminton sports requires excellent coordination ... down from the footwork to hand-eye coordination, speed and strength, balance, etc. But this talent wouldn't stand out if it's not harnessed. Thus, one should really work hard to be the best.
I agree with venkatesh. Professionals in any discipline posess a combination of hard work and (dare I say it?) god-given talent. There is no more a reason for this than why some people struggle with educational pursuits, while others breeze through without a problem. It just is, and mere mortals like ourselves just have to work extra hard to catch up!
I think anyone (maybe not quite anyone...) can become a good player through hard work, but only the naturally talented can be the best of the best.
As someone said : " There is more courage than talent in every success ". So, both But also, even if you don't have much talent, you can become strong.
I doubt it. If so, player like GZC should never be top ranked, as she's definitely "too short" to most standards.
It's fair enough to say the outcomes would all depends on that player. What's there with talent if he's not utilize it well? Also, for someone who's not gifted with talent, effort and hardworks can change everything. What happen next is beyond all the predictions.
Almost all current professional athletes started with natural athletic talent. The specific sport they choose to pursue (may be limited by situation/location/opportunity) is determined by what they best excel at (endurance, fast reactions, fine motor controls, etc.). Then, with training and luck, they can be selected for a national team or be professionally sponsored. After which, climbing to the peak of professionals require nothing but intense training. Succeeding with hard work alone is a romantic thought. But is close to impossible in any major sports today.
