ive recently been using a heavy racket when i play becuz my coach wants me to build up my muscle just wondering, but does this help? But my wrist and forearm have been hurting and when i return to my original racket (ns7000) every single one of my net shots goes out. Is there anything i can do about this?
hmmm, i wouldn't play with a heavy racquet. i'd prob just do some swings outside of court. it won't hurt your timing as much. using a heavy racquet will mean your get even more muscle imbalance. if you want to build up muscle, play basketball or rugby/american football or something else. it makes life fun and you're not always staring at a shuttle
Training rackets are used by all the National Teams Anytime you do training where new muscle is being formed you will have pain...the old saying "no pain, no gain" is very true... Be careful of wrist pain...make sure where the pain is coming from...if it is really the wrist then STOP...if it is muscle then dont worry about it... Your building up power and have not learned to control it yet...dont worry about your shots going out while in training.... All coaches train in different ways so here is my suggestion.... Train with the training racket for one week...this includes playing games... Stop for one or two weeks to let the muscle control with your normal racket become normal again... Depending on how much power gain you want will determine how long you train with the training racket.... After your power is where you want it then use the trainer only for 1-2 hrs per week to keep at top level.... The training racket is to my mind the best training aid you can get...much better than normal weight training which does not build up the small muscle groups used in the badminton shots.... Good Luck and keep at it....you will be glad you did....

AHAHAHA, you coach, my friend, its a few years behing the times. There's no point in using a heavy racquet for that. Pop a few wrist weights on instead. I guess, now you have to just get used to it.
