hi guys a week ago I was in a tournament and I was using my at700ltd, in most of my games i kept smashing really hard. After the tournament i noticed that my at700ltd has lost its stiffness and became really flexible will this flex effect the durability and gameplay? thanks
I wouldn't have thought it was meant to go really flexible. Firstly, are you sure it's genuine? Secondly, have you treated it well (not too many quick climate/humidity changes etc)?
yes im sure its genuine because i brought it from a shop on the yonex site, and also wot do u mean by treating it well? i leave it in my badminton bag and the room its in is pretty cold
I'm not usre this is correct. IMHO If it's flexable at the frame area, it might be due to your high string tension and smashing MAD. Yes, this will affect future play.
OK, that's a good start. I mean just not letting temperature vary too much, not keeping your racket bag in the car, being gentle with your racket. Just sort of basic things to keep it in good shape.
If you can confirm that's it's definitely genuine, and that it's not as stiff as it should be (you'll have to get hold of another for comparison), then you should try and send it back - I can only assume there must be some kind of internal damage for it to become significantly more flexible in only a short space of time. Unless you leave your racket on top of a radiator or something, I can't see exposure to extreme temperatures being an issue in England.
so Sketchy what do i exactly do? because i know it wasnt as stiff as it was before its nearly as flexible as at600 (tried an demo in the tournament)
Yeah, send Yonex an email and see what they can do providing you take reasonably good care of it. Use the contact form as trying to contact them with their email addresses just returned errors for me last time.
Possibly. I guess it'll depend how generous they're feeling. If they don't, you may at least get some explanation as to why it may have happened. Plus, it's a limited edition racket. I've no idea how they'd go about replacing one but that would be very interesting to find out.
im hoping they'd get me another one or let me choose from a range lol, do u think they still have any old at700
Possibly. I'd imagine Yonex have a lot of discontinued rackets. Whether they'd give them away or not is another matter entirely. If you felt like buying a first generation AT700, some places still have them. If I could choose any current Yonex racket, I'd probably go for the Nanospeed 9900. It looks awesome (both aesthetically and the reviews )
ye i know i might get it later though im just hoping that my replacement will be at700ltd or the old version because their the onli rackets i want and i get use to
here is what Yonex said after I contacted them If you feel that there is something wrong with your particular racket then you do have the option to return via you point of purchase. The racket can then be assessed. Thanks Peter what should I do?
Return it via you point of purchase? (ie. take it back to the shop where you bought it, or email them if it was bought online) The only problem I can see with that, is that if Yonex decide there's nothing wrong with it then you'll probably have to pay to get it sent back to you.
ive called up the shop and they said they dont know what to do about it and that they cant replace it and yonex said they shouldnt be like that they should be able to sort it out
