Hi, I am a high school student, and I wish to begin playing in badminton tournaments. how do I go about doing this? is there a membership I need to get to receive the rating (a, b, c, d, etc). how does it work? what are your experiences? any other information you would like to share?

    thanks!

Well, 1st off, I suggest you watch a tournament 1st, in order to see how high the different levels are. Most high school students play D. After you do well in a D flight tournament you just move up a flight. There's no membership needed. Just wait until a tournament that comes up, and apply on their site or however they make you do it.

What do you plan on playing? Singles? Mixed? Doubles? You also need to buy feather shuttles, no plastic at tournaments.
