Warren Buffet on Badminton (and the Economy)

"The period was devastating as well for corporate and municipal bonds, real estate and commodities," Buffett wrote. "By yearend, investors of all stripes were bloodied and confused, much as if they were small birds that had strayed into a badminton game.

i smell a hidden agenda by some city insiders. I sense that basketball and volleyball lobbyists have pursuaded the city park and rec. dept to push out the 'sissy and low key' badminton group so they can own more gym time themselves. It was a damn lame excuse to use poor booking practice to justify a $5/45 mins fee (from zero) while charging nothing for basketball and volleyball.

Here is another poor management practice of typical municipal management. What is the point of the new fee of $1/45 mins??? After hiring a city union worker(with healthcare, pension, vacation benefits of course) to collect fee and keep track of time and players, plus the extra book keeping and clerical work at city hall, and accountant(bean counter) to count and roll coins before depositing it to the bank, what is leftover net money to help the city budget??? LOLOLOLOLOL It is a zero sum game = to not charging at all which cost $0 labor.
