Hi ive been playing for about 2 months and like the title says i would like to get my own racquet rather then use the schools racquets. I was looking at a AT150 with either BG-65, or BG65TI, BG70Pro (recommended by badminton.net) or bg80 recommended by a board member. So i guess the main question is do you guys think this is a good racquet for a noob?

i like to smash alot when i play, but i play alot of defense when i go to open gym and play against more experienced players.

    do a quick search.
there have been mixed reviews about the at150, some people really do hate it.

The AT150 is a fine beginners' attacking racket. You should probably go for BG-65 - it's a good benchmark string and BG-65TI and BG-70 may be a little stiff for a beginner. BG-80 is a good string too but I just think BG-65 is a good starting point, maybe try BG-80 when you restring and see which you prefer.

They NS series are all head light. This makes them more suited to defence but potentially, less powerful than the AT150. If you can stretch to the price of the AT250, that's an awesome racket.

alright cool, well i think im narrowed down to the 150, and 250. i think now its just up to the money issue! Because i didnt really wanna spend much on racquet since im still a beginner although later on i know i will be getting a better raquet for more advanced players. but i think ill just think about this! thxsf or the help!

1 last question for both racquets the 150, and 250 i was goign to get the bg65. for the tension do you think 22 would be good?

22Lbs should be fine for a beginner. On balance, I'd recommend the 150 over the 250 to you because the 250 is stiffer and harder to use. Whichever you choose, you'll get a great racket, enjoy

Do you use feathers or plastic shuttles. If plastic then i would go for the BG 70

Hey! whats wrong with school rackets!
i personally own some good rackets but i love using the school ones. so light and heavy :) builds wrist muscles haha

Anyways, on topic... Don't get a lower ranked AT series. just go for the top series in another brand, like SOTX or Apacs. I have a diamond fighter 600 that i bought for 150 + strings and it is amazing. Also another SOTX you can check out is the Woven series, its just over 100$ I bet you both of these rackets would pwn an AT 150/250 any day :)

If I were you, you should get either a low range or mid range racket with BG65, try something like a muscle power 45. Don't be stupid like me, I started with a AT900T with BG85 -_-
