Default Good badminton store in Tokyo?

    Hey Guys,
I'm visiting Tokyo for a school trip in about a week and i was wondering if any local people can suggest a good place to buy a racket. I was looking to pick up a mid-high end racket for my dad and i was wondering where i should go. It would be very helpful if the people in the store speak english as i am not japanese and do not speak the language. My dad prefers yonex rackets if that helps at all.

    Thanks a lot.

I usually visit WINDSOR RACKET SHOP in Tokyo.
They have many stores in many locations like.. shinjuku, shibuya, ueno, etc.
You may check this website and find the nearest location of Windsor Racket shop near your place, OK ?
The one in Shibuya is the biggest shop ! Check it out. www.windsorracket.co.jp
    Good luck

    anek999,
Yes i am living in Tokyo.
Here i didnt find any dedicated courts for badminton. I am not a professional player as a hobby i play during weekends/holidays. We normally go to the gyms managed by city govt. these gyms are equipped to play other indoor sports apart from Badminton. they prepare a monthly schedule and reserve time slots to play badminton, normally each group gets maximum of 3 hours of court time.

Sometime our group members go to a private club, central sports. for non members its expensive about USD 50-60 for entry.

There is another active member in this forum, I think Miyuki san, she is a japanese player and she is an advanced level player. She can suggest clubs where advanced players can play for long hours.

if you dont find any other place to play you can contact me lets try to find a place to play. if you need any help when you are here in Tokyo let me know, i will try my best.

    Hi,Kyle92

    Nice to meet you~

Winsor and Wembley is a famous badminton shop in Tokyo. Both of them has some branch. A big station has a badminton shop at least. So it depens on your schedule and hotel.

If you can tell me when and where, I ask some friends.
my Japanese friend just came back from Toronto this month. So if you just go to buy on weekday, I ask him if he can take you.
If you want to play, I may arrange.

By the way, I heard some student from Toronto came to Tokyo. And they play in Chiba University. Are you a member of it?

If so, I can also ask the student or maneger to take you a badminton shop.

Anyway, have a good trip in Japan!!

    Hi, Anek

I am sure we meet in a Japan Open.
If you want to play, let me know before the tounament.
Now I am not sure which badminton club can open.because it is depends on the schedule of the hall or sports center on September.

Can you change a hotel in Shibuya?
There is a hotel which is infront of a sports center.
It open for badminton player on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 9:30pm. So you can play in the morning and take a shower and put your bag in your hotel , and them go to watch the tounament.
    It is my best plan

Before Yonex Japan Open I will give you my schedule in advance.
Is the hotel or badminton club located near Shibuya JR. station ?
