Fast grip changes
I'm used to playing with a standard grip flush with the bottom of the handle, but for many years used a higher grip for men's doubles. I try to use both depending on the shot, but find I can't move my fingers up and down the handle fast enough between quick shot exchanges.
Example, I have a smash hit at me, I drive it back and get a weak return at the net, and I jump forward to kill it, but my grip is still at the bottom of the handle.
How do you change your grip up instantly? Is there a technique or training method or do you just pick it up over time?

Moving upwards: what I do is letting the grip loose until the racket slides in my hand to the right position. With a bit of practice this is very fast, and can be done when jumping forward.
Moving downwards: if really in a rush, what I normally do is put more force into the shot (say, a clear) and don't change the grip, again with a bit of practice you'll know how much more power to put in to get the same effect as holding at the bottom; if not in a rush, use fingers or even the other hand.
I alway hold at the bottom unless serving or receiving serves.

If you were waiting for a smash then presumably you should all ready be in a short grip.

hijack alittle on the thread.
but for cases of a sticky grip such as the Wilson Over Grip.. there will be difficulty in moving the grip around your fingers?
