What are some things you should always refrain from doing in badminton?
-the problem is when you play mixed doubles you always aim for the girll...well most of the time. when you smash, you aim as steep as possible, meaning the girl. i understand it's hard to react to a smash from the front but they always get hit and then other people get mad at you. what can you do?

if in tournament, always take down the weaker.

as for me, just friendly games, always smash the guy!! :D:D:D
but, always make the gal running corner to corner.

guy, always need to cover your partner(gal). that is the best solution.

if you're a competitor, mercy is for the weak...especially in doubles, things change in a second, and you need to be aggressive and attack when given the chance...it's how it goes lol...friends off the court, on the court, unless they're your partner, you've gotta go at it...an unethical thing would be if you purposely threw your racket at them >_>....

well...many people do not know how to rotate/split when attacked.

How do they learn it eventually?

They learn it the hard way.

    So help them:D

It definitely depends on how competitive the game is.
If it's in a tournament, then you obviously have to target the weaker player.

If it's just a friendly practice game though, and the girl in question is not very good at returning smashes, then it's pointless to target her all the time - it'll just be a really quick and boring game.

Personally, I'd try and help her out a bit - take a bit of pace off the shot, and try to place it just about within her reach. That way she's still involved in the game, and being stretched, so she might actually get really good at defending eventually.

    1) Is she good looking?
    2) How about her figure?
    3) Do you even have a chance?
If you answer YES! to all 3, smash but not too hard so she will look even better. If you answer OH Yeah! to all 3, set up a couple of lift so she can smash at you.

What I just said is one of the unethical thing most of the guys do...

Goes without saying. Why would you even be playing with a girl if she wasn't good looking? ;)

LOL, Sketchy, I (and I'm sure many other BCers) aren't always able to play with the nice looking girls. There are some at my club but not too many (not too many girls actually :()

That should have been self explanatory ;)

That's NOT completely true. Probbally 99% of the girls that play badminton don't have nice bods, but theres a girl in my region and she is off the hook. LOL

Well, because tennis is boring and I have a girlfriend anyway, so I don't care that much.

Definitely a different predominant body shape between the two sports. Badminton seems to have more slender, tennis more curvy.
