I believe this ( 马晋(1988-5-7,山东队,江苏人) says she'll be 21 on May 7th and that she's from Shandong. Corrections if I'm wrong, please.

Your wish came true, they won their 1st SS title, congrat to ZB & MJ
Based on the score I guess ZB & MJ were on fire, I guess it's easier than their win over the same pair on AE QF ??

Interestingly, Ma Jin has been paired with Shen Ye for the 2009 India Open.
So, where does that leave Zheng Bo?

Hey, what so annoying about ZYL

MJ is good. Not sure what happened at that "blow up" episode. MJ is a perfect XD player. We will see a lot of her.

here is my assessment after watching the SO final.

back court : poor. severely lack in power. will be in trouble if she is nailed to the back
    smash defense: excellent
    netdrop techinque: excellent
net kill: too slow, not lethal enough.
    net drive: too slow
net coverage: so so. poor Zheng Bo, MJ left so many potential blocks. if it were GL, none would've passed her. MJ's racket is not up all the time.
    look: erm... ok i guess.

she has beautiful lunge up to the net.

overall, still young and lacking a bit in decisiveness, confidence and experience.

given these weaknesses, it's quite an achievement to have beaten the olympic champions twice in a row.

yeah. it was puzzling a bit. i do think that she got a lot of help from ZB who covered most of the holes she left.

she also got a lot of help from LYD and LHJ who are both playing under their peak potential.

I agree with your assessment. Net play is an underrated skill however, knowing & having the confidence to take a shot, kill a shot etc... takes a long time.

Defence - Yes very good. She saved the game with her defence in AE against LYD/LHJ. I couldn't put my finger on why LYD/LHJ are playing not up to scratch. They seem to be trying hard, and not making massive amounts of errors they just seem to be struggling

i see XD as most tactical demanding of all the badminton event category. Maybe the KOR XD team is still trying to read into zb/mj weak area. However, if ZB/MJ is evolving (ie, improving and reducing their weakness) match by match, what lyd/lhj have for their game plan would be out dated when they come to the court
