Queueing Nights This is a game ususally doubles (any comb) and there is a queing Master who will match your level with other players. You can also sometimes make a request if you have your usual double partner to be played against some players you want to play with. In our area, we pay a fixed amount for the queueing (US$ 1.70) from 6pm to midnight ususally.. add to this the shuttle cost. The shuttle cost is divided into 4 (say shuttle is $1 so each player will pay $0.25) per game per new shuttle that you get from Q-Master. Sometimes you used 2 shuttle per game so that's $0.25 x 2 = $0.50). At the end of your game if you have used 10 shuttles, you will pay total of $1 + $2.5 = $3.5. Other courts i believe has different style for the shuttle cost. This is actually a very good game to improve your badminton aside from having to be trained by a coach. When someone invited me to this queueing nights, i didn't have any idea at all what was it and the moment i step in the court with a partner that i didn't know and so with our opponents, i am nervous at first but then after some weeks of regularly playing, i became relax and find myself having another circle of friends in badminton.
Do I just show up and talk to them or do I have to pre-register or something? I'm visiting the Philippines soon and I'm hoping to play there.
The queuing process varies. Here's what you should expect/do: 1) Once you get to the venue, ask/look for the que master. You'll have to list/register your name with the que master. You may be charged upon listing or you may be charged later on when you are about to leave the venue instead. 2) The que master will match up all listed players in a doubles setup (4 players, either men, women or mixed doubles) and assign which court to play. He/she may write it on a board, announce it through a PA system, etc. Once you hear/see your name, just go to your court assignment. The first thing to do is look for the que master and from there, you can ask for all the steps/rules of the queuing. Enjoy your stay here.
