First of all...I congratulate LCW for his superb and extraordinary stamina and strategies he demonstrated during the Swiss SS. The same goes to LD for his excellent performance. I'd like to question if the 3-month intensive training performed by LD has been really significant??? Looking at the opponents defeated by LCW and LD in the Swiss SS....I guess LCW's opponents were a lot tougher than those faced by LD....
what 3 month intensive training? are you talking about the one before the olympic games? because other than that i don't remember LD doing any "intensive training", lol everyday training for him is intense enough for most people on this board haha
Come On Indra Lin Dan's Opponents were atleast 10times tougher than those of Lee Chong Wei......... LCW just had Taufik in his way.....Jan O Jorgensen still has a long way to go.............
Actually I think Jan has improved a LOT since last year. Last year he seemed to rarely make it past the first round.
Whether LD went on intensive training has no bearing on what kind of opponents he gets. Blame it on the luck of the draw. Or maybe LCW and LD got equal opponents, but because LD dispatched them more easily, the tendency is to think that LD got easier passage.
10 times?? Take the hardest player in the draw to beat (Lin Dan) and take the easiest player in the draw to beat (I don't know, some player who got knocked out easily in the 1st round), and I still don't think one is 10 times tougher than the other.
Based on the results of the last few tournaments that I have seen of JOJ, I am pretty impressed. It's Denmark's next generation. Also don't count JP out yet. Danes tend to bloom later.
Yup...Danish players do rise up to the occassion when you least expect them to be. Like Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen, they begin to show progress only late last year, after beating Tony/Candra in the Chinese-Taipei Open GP Gold. Since then, it was all the way up. Ditto for Tine Rasmussen and Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen.
We can all extrapolate: What would LD's form be if he does not have this intensive training? Chinese players tend to perform best after intensive training. One example is CY/FHF.
But Indra...I recalled at the time when CHN was hosting the 3-month training stint, many questioned whether CHN team would be rusty from the layoff and WR sinking....but now, are you saying that the training resulted in LD excellent performance?
