Exclamation Talking in the middle of a Badminton game.

    Alright guys.
Few weeks ago, i was playing double with these two kids. When we are playing game, they start talking stuffs like don't hit over there and some stupid stuffs. During the entire game, they never shut up, they were like laughing and not playing seriously during the game. Is it allow to talk during the game? I mean they are not whispering, they are like chatting so loud that i can hear from the other side. In the end, me and my partner killed them, but our scores are very close because of their distraction and stuffs. I really want to slap them after our game finish. If you faced the same opponent what would you do? I already try to ignore them, but its just hard.

If they were using that as a tactic, it certainly worked

And, no, there is no rule that forbids anyone from talking.
However, you could complain about the 'attempt to distract'.

No, you cannot say something that's insulting. Now that's against the rules for bad sportmanship.

are you playing a tournament? seems like either theyre extremely good (since its a close game) or theyre just trying to have a casual game. either way theres nothing wrong with talking unless they're insulting you. if this isnt a tournament i think you might be taking it too seriously.

what you and maybe your partner have to do is maybe to concentrate fully on the match.
and dont bother anything that's gonna distract you..
just pay 100% full of attention into the game.
    hope that helps.

This is a really bad habbit i've got. This always happends when i play singels. If my opponent smash the shuttle or something that gives him a point, i always says "good ball, nice smash etc". And i always runs to get the ball if eaither one of us hits the net.

There are some rules that a badminton player should respect:
1 - You can talk what you want when the feather is in your "field"...when the feather is in the oponnent filed you can't talk because its fault.
If they just talked when the feather was in their field you can't do nothing.

    Thanks.

Me and my bro play doubles once but the other team never talked as much as your describe above. Even tho it was kinda like a casual match but since it was school agianst school we had to win anyways. They would kinda blame it on themselves when they lose a point and stuff or when they scored. It's pretty easy to win especially since me and my brother are a distracting because we look identical even tho we 3 years difference. But when we smash we make like a grunt or yell into the smash.

your obviously not very mentally controlled if u cant block out their communication etc
just concentrate on your own game.

I would say concentrate on your own game and shut them up by beating them with a lopsided score. Then yawn loudly between the serves to tell them you are really bored playing with them. If you can only manage to beat them with a close score, then I would say that they earned the right to talk loud.

This all "talk back to them"-thing doesn't work for everyone. If it doesn't work for you it would only make it worse. And thats true for sure.
They might talk to each other unconsiously, and are "used" to this kind of playing.

If they are playing unseriously, just tell them to shut it. If they don't want to play this way leave them.
