Jogging pants could be OK, as long as they're short. Long pants are not allowed in competition, except in cold halls, and then only with the umpire's approval.

It depends on the type of tournament. If its a tournament with high level U need to wear a shorts (or skirt for women). If the tournament is just for fun with no umpire is no big deal I think. But its much better to play with a shorts

check the tournament and host club rules. some types of clothes are typically prohibitied from clubs, color is the usually the main concern. most clubs that have a policy will state all-white clothing.

for articles of clothing, the only restrictions i have ever seen before is no tank tops.

yes...it does depend on the tournament. mokkelbo is correct, high class does require shorts, etc. but in those fun tournys, it's not required.

badrad, above stated that some tourny's require all white, and that is correct as well...but in high class, you also need the shorts, etc. You are able to warm up in your pants though in some tournys

in my opinion, i wouldn't wear any type of pants because i find it just get's you hot and you won't be concentrating on ur game...but instead, concentrating on the pants and how damn hot it is, lol.

Look at what Serena Williams is wearing in the US Open. I really like to see the female badminton players wearing the same thing.

My theory on badminton players that is about 75% correct:

The shorter their shorts, the better they are. :)

i haven't worn shorts playing for over two years... and i play at uni level... i just wear white microfibre trousers - they wick, they're very light, and i don't find they impede my movement at all. i started wearing them after i cut my legs up pretty badly in a mountain biking accident, and the scars were healing, but i've just never gone back to shorts...

i might soon, but i don't know how much difference it would make to my court movement...

bring a change of both to the event, go with what others are wearing.
