    Lee Chong Wei & Taufik Hidayat at the 2009 India Open

    Greetings,

    The 2009 India Open will be held from Tuesday March 24 to Sunday March 29.
    For the draw: click here

    LCW and TH will be seeded as No.1 and 2 respectively at this tournament. Currently, LCW is ranked as World No.1, while TH is as World No.7.

    At their last meeting, at the 2009 Swiss Open Quarter-Finals, on Friday 13-Mar-2009, LCW narrowly defeated TH with scores of 21-23, 21-12, 21-19 in 1 hour and 5 minutes.

    LCW continued making his way to win at that Finals, defeating Lin Dan, World No.2, with scores of 21-16, 21-16 in 52 minutes.

    Will LCW and TH be facing each other at the Finals at this 2009 India Open?

    Cheers... chris-ccc

    Now there's a new trend. Either player X & Y in a tourney or country ABC in a tourney.

    The 4 Heavenly Kings are still the best 4 talented players that we have

    .
    eaglehelang ... It's still the same old trend. :):):)

    Currently, the 4 Heavenly Kings are still the best 4 talented players that we have, namely:
    Lee Chong Wei
    Lin Dan
    Taufik Hidayat
    Peter Gade

    It's always interesting when they should face one another, at any tournament.

    XXX player in ZZZ tournament

    .
    Yes, it is because it could be interesting to follow some of our professional players in some of the tournaments they are entering.

    The first one done was " To follow Wong Choong Hann at the German Open 2009 ".
    Many thought WCH could win it, but unfortunately he stopped at the Quarter-Finals (again). :eek:

    Then, the next one was " Can Taufik win the AE MS title this time? ".
    Taufik came close, but he was eliminated by LCW at the Semi-Finals.

    The latest one is " Saina Nehwal at the 2009 India Open "
    It should be appropriate to follow Saina at this tournament. And Saina could have a good chance of winning her WS title here.

    Nothing but the Finals round..

    ..i'd imagine, anything short of a Finals appearance for either or both players will be considered a disappointment??...:confused:

    We can only hope that they would try their BEST in their matches

    .
    Not really ... We can only hope that they would try their best in their matches. And showing us their skill and craft at this tournament.

    How they perform is what is important. Winning or losing is only part of the game.

    Hmm..

    ..not to underestimate the other top competitors (in MS event), but considering LCW and Taufik are essentially the top players here, wouldn't anyone expect them to go deep into the draw and reach the Finals??..Show them skills, crafts and "magical touch" and reach the Final round..;)

    As for Taufik, how about winning this India Open GP Gold for all your supporters and die-hard fanz??..;)

    Expected that we will have a TH-vs-LCW Finals at this 2009 India Open

    .
    Yes, It is expected that we will have a TH-vs-LCW Finals at this 2009 India Open.

    I posted this in a previous thread:

    It's clear to see that TH is now fitter.

    It's clear to say that TH is more prepared this time, for this 2009 German/AE/Swiss series of tournaments.

    Unfortunately, LCW was in top form at this 2009 Swiss Open. I would say that; If LCW were to play with just 1% less than how he had played, TH would have defeated him.

    So it was unlucky for TH that LCW was in top form. Otherwise, TH would be the one to face LD at the Finals. And perhaps able to win the 2009 Swiss Open MS title.

    TH has come back to be at the same level as the World's No.1 and 2.

    2009 Indi Open: CHN MS young guns participating

    .
    Yes, we shouldn't discount the CHN MS young guns.

    Let's list them and follow their progress too:
    * [IMG][CHN] Kai WEN *(WR #85)
    * [IMG][CHN] Yanbo QIU *(WR #88)
    * [IMG][CHN] Long CHEN *(WR #147)
    * [IMG][CHN] Pengyu DU *(WR #154)
    * [IMG][CHN] Wenlong ZHOU *(WR #218)

    LCW will face CL in Round 1. And probably WK in Round 3. Don't think that ZWL can make it to the Semi-Finals.

    TH will probably face DPY in Round 3. And perhaps QYB at the Quarter-Finals.
