    Hello,
    Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Jack and I am on the badminton team at my high school.
I am currently ranked #1 on the Junior Varsity Men's Singles section and am striving to work hard to become a varsity player. This is just a brief introduction of myself. Let's proceed to my question I have for you all.

I am an offensive type of badminton player and I prefer smashing as my way of winning most games. I am looking to purchase a new badminton racquet for myself, but the problem is that there are two that I like very much, but I'm struggling to decide on which one to purchase. These two racquets are the Yonex Arcsaber 10 and Yonex Armortec 900 Power.
They have about the same price tag, and I just cannot choose between the two. I need advice from you all on which one you might think, in your opinions, is the superior racquet.
If any of you have had experience with these two racquets, that would be great.

Also, I will be choosing the BG-80 as the strings and making the tension at 24 lbs.

Thank you all so much for your help and advice!

You may be ranked #1 in the Junior Varsity Men's Singles section, but you aren't a professional player (...yet). Therefore this thread is located inappropriately. :)

Welcome to the forum. I play both Arc10 and AT900P with BG-80 at 25lbs so close enough to you. Both are really nice racquets. If you like smashing alot then go for AT900P. If you want a little less head heavy but still some offensive and defensive properties Arc10 is good.

Agreed. Arc 10 is more an all rounder. Good for defense and offense.
AT900P packs a bit more punch in smashes as it's head heavier. But a little weaker in defense.
Depends which you would like to compromise really.

    AT900P . . . superb racket

Its really whatever you like. JV 1 isn't something to really break the bank for either. However, I recommend the AT 900. Its a great racket, and I find it isn't as lacking as a certain ARC. While the head heavy feel may impede defense, i find with practice many players overcome it.

I would Also recommend the Head Metallix 10000, 6000. Both are great as well, with the Metallix 10000 feeling powerful and maneuverable

    Interesting.
    I would say the opposite.
ARC10 for singles and AT900P for doubles.

    I didn't enjoy Head Metallix 10000.
    I didn't enjoy at all.
    But I switched to AT900P.
My defense actually got better right away after the switch.
But I mean, there are many factors that might've contributed to that.
You can't go wrong with either ArcSaber 10 or AT900P.
If you have no problem with the head heaviness, go with the AT900P.

I agreed with hellopanda3 that Arc10 is for single and AT900P for doubles :).

I use Arc10 for single game as I think maneuverability and control are more crucial. For Arc10, I find that you can easily get out of sticky situations when caught flat-feet by just having a sweet stroke of the racket at the sweet spot, the shutter will be hit to the baseline effortlessly, a priceless assset to have in single game. As compare to my older rackets, Cab8 & Cab15, in similar sticky situations, a same sweet stroke at the sweet spot can only hit the shutter to "3/4 court" places where you are open to opponent's smashes. Also, you can easily control the shutters for net plays and sharp drop shots. However, you will sacrifice some power for having more control by using the Arc10 (the Arc10 is still quite a powerful racket in its own rights) :D.

2 words describe the AT900P when you use it for the first time, RAW POWER:eek:. You can feel the raw power that the AT900P gives you especially when you are chasing those "3/4 court" shots for power smashes. However, due to its heavier head, you need more time to get use to the rackets for controlling shutters in net plays. If you have the wrist strength to wield the AT900P for controlling the shutters, the AT900P is to me an almost perfect racket for double game, where I think power is more crucial than maneuverability :).

    Both my Arc10 and AT900P are strung with NBG98 @ 25 pounds.

I happened to have both & uses them both as much.

I play doubles more. somehow, I can defend better with AT900 than Arc10.

i agree that Arc10 is suited for doubles & pack with all round properties while AT900 is packed with smashing punch.

Or you can consider the AT-900T if you want something in between

hmm...if you are a heavy attacker player, then AT900P would be more suitable for you. Arc-10 is more on balance on both atk and def.
