So far, most people will say yonex mavis 2000. While the hiqua slow speed are the cheapest and still have feather like feel.

Yes they are more durable, but don't mistaken this for indestructible. You should periodically check the shuttle for flight and speed consistency. If the shuttle is too slow use a new one for game play. I see many ppl keep using their old nylon shuttle even though its not completely broken like a feather.

I say at minimum you can play 10 games with a plastic on average i change mine once a week, vs feather which can be from 2 games to breaking in 1 rally.

Perhaps the only advantages I can see are durability and cost. They last for many more games and therefore are a cost effective alternative to feather shuttlecocks. Unfortunately, it's main disadvantage is in it's performance and flight characteristics, making them less enjoyable to play with IMHO...

Are you a Malaysian? I think Malaysians don't use nylon shuttles when playing badminton. That would be a disgrace for a badminton-strong country like Malaysia. Even in Hong Kong if you play with nylon the others will look down on you.

I have been asked to test the different models of Yonex nylon shuttles and they are all useless. My strong suggestion to you is to avoid it because it is false economy and it has a terribly heavy price-you will never be a real badminton player, only a nylon version of the beautiful game that kills the skills of the player.

    malaysianfreak,
if you're in asia where feather shuttles are relatively cheap(er) than in western countries, don't bother using nylon birds

only with feather can you truly learn the finer art and skill of badminton; the intricasies of timing of the strike and shots such as slices, tumbling net shots, fast drops cannot be learned with nylon

for us, we kill 1 mavis 2000 per 3 hr. usually is the shuttle head becomes soft and flight become slow and less responsive.
