From Plastic to Feather?
Wanting to move from plastic to feather as the places i play (clubs) use feather .I myself play with a family friend and we have been using Mavis 300 and 370s for about 4months.
Read lots of advice on here about what feather and i have narrowed down to 3..
Im after what all people are after thats value for money ,longevity, and
trueness of the shuttle..
Im between
Wilson Top line 80
Yonex AS10s
RSL tourney No 2s..
Im trying to get 2 dozen for £30 delivered all these shuttles are in that range..
May be able to stretch to RSL tourney No1s which come in at £32 delivered..
Thats the cheapest i can find the shuttles im after on the net..
What would be the ones best suited for me..
Thanks..

Firstly, cross the AS10's off your list.
Secondly, shop around some more - the Wilson Top Line 100's and RSL #1's are both available inside your budget (centralsports is a good place to start).

Really would love to have the money to spend on AS40 or AS 50 but they are in my opinion a little too expensive for a first dip into the feather market..
Looking at a few comments i think i may opt for the Wilsons....Maybe give the RSLs a try next time..

Hey Paulstevo,
Some advice. Go onto the UK Tourney Website and request a tube of RSL Tourney 1's as a test tube. They will give you a tube for £10.75!!!!
Yonex 10's are okay, but there is not much to be saved between getting Wilson TL80's and 100's. The 100's are a very good shuttle and I would recomend ( although perhaps a tiny bit fast).
If you are on a budget - I'd seriously give Tronex Green, (Central sports) a try. Pretty good shuttle and at a bulk buy price of £10.80 very good value!!!

Only place in the UK selling Aeroplane shuttles (that I know of):
http://ibadminton.co.uk/shop/aeroplane.html
Have been saying they're out of stock for quite a while now though.
RRP is £13.95, but actual sale price may be lower?

Have you tried bargaining? A lot of places will give you discounts if you buy in bulk (which is what you need with feathers).

Have you considered second hand / training shuttles?
Sounds a bit pikey I know, but lots of clubs chuck away decent shuttles because a feather has broken etc....
I personally recieved £260's worth of free of shuttles of which 40% were great for training and the others went to kids at training schools.

Im not proud mate..
If i could find thrown away feather shuttles i would use them quite happily...
Were would i look ..
Or is it a case of finding local clubs and asking?

Finding local clubs would be the best bet. Thats where I got mine from. Failing that and if you really struggle i can send some upto you, postage at your expense.
