    Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to badminton in general. Been playing for a few months with friends. I've enjoyed the sport more than anything that I've ever played before and am looking at a first racket.

    Things to describe my playstyle:
    -Generally play singles.
    -Attack based, offensive player.

    I've heard a heavier racket is favored for offensive players, around the 3U range. I'm looking mainly at the Yonex NanoSpeed 100/200 and the Carbonex 8600Ti. The main distinction between the two that I've noticed is the isometric vs. oval head. Which is recommended for a beginner/my playstyle. I'm also open to other brand/model recommendations.

    Thanks! :)

    well, think about them badminton shoe before that badminton racket. If you got the shoes, ignore this.

    The nanospeed's are head light, fast and powerful rackets, excellent for speed, adn decent power. good defense. However, If you are attack based, also think about teh AT30, new yonex racket, head heavy, for better power.

    Try telling us what balance you like, and price/ performance.

    I suggest you look at other brands since the yonex rackets you mentioned are very low. you could get a mid range racket from other brands

    I have a decent pair of shoes already. As for the racket im trying to hang around the $60 price range. For balance, head heavy would be more of what I'm looking at. I'll take a look at the AT 30 you recommended.

    @phandrew: Specifically what brands models?
