boundaries question

    I recently got back into the game and i forgot how the bounds work. i know its long and skinny for singles and short and fat for doubles, but is that just for serving and then its all open court after the serve or do the bounds remain short/fat long/skinny?

    long and skinny for singles - always

    short and fat for doubles - service only
    long and fat for doubles - after service.
