Hello, After playing 4 months with a racket the wooden shaft split. It is possible to place a new shaft on the racket, but therefore I need a shaft. Unfortunately I can't find such an item. Does anyone has an idea where I can buy it (I need two shaft BTW). Thank you?
this reminds me of a story my grandfather tells. He's had a broom all his life, and has used it every day. He says to me 'son, that broom is the best thing I ever bought. I've used it every day and there it is good as new. I've only had to replace the shaft 5 times and the head 7 times.....' Now, what relevance is this to your badminton problem I hear you ask? probably none, other than leading me to my suggestion, which is... Get another racket.
i think time as pass on those wooden racket, you should move on to the steel frame ones they're highly unlikely to break. dont listen to those people and their carbon graphite shafts they're silly. but honestly i think u should move on.
I think you can easily get better rackets in Holland........ Anyway, just fine a piece of metal, two screws and some super glues, and Va La!
The rackets about I'm talking are one of the newest Yonex... Which have a price over here of more than € 100,00 each. So If I have the possibility to place a new wooden shaft on it.....
err.... you have given the wrong info and everyone here is mis-interpret it. that wood piece, is NOT call shaft. that is the handle!! at your area, i have no idea where to get a replacement. try ask around. ask the few sports shop. check out who can repair/replace the handle. it will not be that expensive. expect some where around USD10.
Sorry my friend from Netherland! The grip, or the wooden handle of your Yonex..... ummm.... I am sure you can just take it back to Yonex and ask for a new racket. There is no reason why they cannot replace it for you. It is not something of a wear and tear. In the world of golf, people often change their 'grips' in shops even when they get top of the range drivers. It is a common practice. I am sure it would not be difficult to get the wooden handle/grip be replaced.
found a handle from a broken racket ,cut at the shaft at the top of the cone ,then drill a hole and insert it ,and use some glue the shaft of the racket must be clean,take away the cone and the little peace of wood of the picture first!
It's an AT700 new colour and it's not mine anyway . Needed to take some pics of the old 700 and found this beauty in the bag as well haha ... Thanks for the tips Ming. Yes the old 700 is broken at the top but the handle is still good and the new 700 ... wel you have seen it yourself in the pics . The rest of it is still good ...
