According to World Team Ranking, CHN must be in Group1A, and MAS must be in Group1B. So if three teams out of CHN, INA, KOR and DEN are in Group1A, MAS will have a high chance to come into SF. Otherwise MAS will........

For Poland will not play this year, IND will play in Group2 according to World Team Ranking.

BUT if According to the results 2007, SWE will still play in Group2.

Can Poland field a reasonably good mixed team to get higher in ranking?

Or is it pure economics?

If the seeds were based on ranking, it will be between China, Denmark and Malaysia who occupy first - third seed.

There has only been 5 nations who have reached at least the semifinals, they are China, Indonesia, Korea, England and Denmark. Malaysia is not among them.

Thus, if Malaysia is counted as having almost equal semifinals chance, then for each group, it is possible to have at least 3 group members having equal chance to the semifinals. Except China, semifinal spot or even the title looks certain for them.

Yup, a double edged sword, where we have fallen flat after being seeded countless times in team competitions.

Based on the seeding report of 23rd April, Denmark and Indonesia are the top 2 seeds. China is only placed third.

This ridiculous Team Ranking System is just for MAS to avoid being with CHN in the seam Group, especially avoid MAS, CHN and KOR being in the same Group.

On the contrary, I don't see that it benefits Malaysia at all. Malaysia doesn't do well in mixed team competitions, in fact the only victory we ever had was the 2006 Commonwealth Games title.

If MAS, CHN and KOR are in the same group, MAS has no chance into SF, otherwise, MAS has a little chance into SF, and has a high chance when KOR in the other group where CHN is.

The best draw for INA will be to have MAS, ENG, and HKG. One thing for sure, INA is separated from CHN.

Which of the top two seeds will INA prefer? Tough choices.
DEN will be able to win the points from XD, MS, and WS.
MAS will be able to win the points from MS, MD, and either WS or WD.

I think I will still prefer having MAS in the group. INA needs to take XD and then battle it out in WS, MD, and WD for the 2 remaining points. As for DEN, INA needs to secure WD and MD and fight it out in MS, WS, and XD. Not easy.

MAS vs INA will be an interesting one to watch especially.

The worst is perhaps to have DEN, INA, KOR, and JPN. Even JPN can steal a point or two from INA.
