    2 Weeks left for LCW to prepare for OG after his injury healed is definitely too short. Normally it will take around 1 week the fastest, to get over Injury Phobia. Not to mention his footwork, stamina & power will be trained as well in that 2 weeks to get back to a possible level in that short period of time. In my opinion, It is quite hard to get back to his level at 2011WC & 2011AE.

    I have suffered Ankle injury as well, which in my opinion is worse or at least same with what our beloved Dato suffers. It took me around 1.5 months to recover and 1 month to get over injury phobia & awkward/stiff movement on court. Not to mention my stamina & power that has been deteriorating on that injury period.

    All the best for Dato. As his loyal fans, all we can do are wishing him speedy recovery & may the God of Fortune be with him..
    so, are we saying LCW should gives way to the younger generation, D Liew or Wei Feng CHONG for the London OLY?
    that will be a very tough call for BAM

    Lightbulb It is crazy for LCW to participate if he is not fit

    Yes, I am saying that LCW should give way to the younger generation (at this coming 2012 OG), when he is injured.

    It is crazy for him to participate if he is not fit.

    BTW, you are in England. Get to follow/watch our Australian thoroughbred racehorse, Black Caviar, the best sprinter in the world. She will be leaving Melbourne for England on 06-Jun-2012. She is our current World No.1 sprinter (winning 21 out of 21 races) and she will participate at the Royal Ascot, in the King's Stand Stakes (1000m) on 19-Jun-2012.

    Whenever Black Caviar is injured, she will be rested. Have a read of this Wikipedia info;
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Caviar_(horse)

    And to have a look at one of her races;
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJn2VWMtEio

    Now, tell me this - Are we not to look after LCW not any better than a racehorse?

    Hope is one thing, but reality is another.

    I also wish that I could win a GOLD medal at the Olympic Games too. But I also realise that I couldn't win one (therefore, I am not going).

    It will be a shame if all of LCW's blood, sweat & tears (and effort) in trying to retain the no.1 MS WR, since 2009 (?) end up with him not being a 100% for the upcoming 2012 OG...
    Whether his recent injuries (right shoulder and sprained ankle) were/weren't the results of him logging on so much playing hrs, sometimes, it makes me wonder, was it even worth it for him to put so much playing hrs and time?..

    .
    It's because LCW has put in so much time in training and in playing that he has managed to do well at tournaments.

    Without all his hard work, I would think that he could not have kept his World No.1 position for so long.

    Really?

    But why is he not resident in MAS?
    Isn't he a foreigner to MAS as a result?

    Of course its worth it. Simply because since the last quarter of 2008 till now it puts so much pain and agonies in you of him being the world no.1.... and causes you to lose sleep thinking about it. Ya I can feel the pain is still there, deep inside you.

    Unhappy LCW is under immense pressure as he is targeted to deliver MAS's first OG Gold medal

    .
    When I started this thread more than 3 years ago, I never expected LCW to be in such a difficult situation just before the 2012 Olympic Games.

    LCW is under immense pressure as he is targeted to deliver the nation's first gold medal at the Olympics.

    LCW's father, Lee Ah Chai, 59, was widely reported by the press yesterday to have allegedly attempted to end his life by trying to jump off the Penang bridge on Sunday morning but was stopped by police.

    Ah Chai, however, was quoted by an English newspaper yesterday, denying that he had attempted to commit suicide and instead said the incident was a misunderstanding.

    "This is a rare circumstance which has never happened to any of our athletes before," said Zolkples, when met at the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil here yesterday.
