Thread: Yonex SHB80W (2008-2009)

This thread has now ripened for a few months.
May I ask for a review of the shoe from those who bought them in May?
Are you still fans? Is the width still comfortable?
I am contemplating the unforgivable sin of buying shoes online.
My friendly neighbourhood orthotist says that my shoes are just too narrow. But there are only 2-3 court shoes available in the stores here, and no Yonex.
Thanks in advance.

I ordered a pair of these shoes online (always so dangerous).
They are pretty, lightweight and have a good grip.
But they are not wide across the metatarsals. The toebox is square, which is nice. But across the "knuckles" of the toes, the insole width is absolutely the same as any other shoe.
So if you are a duck-footed geezer headed toward bunion-land....it's always best to try before you buy.
(That being said, I'm keeping these things because of their other charms.)

kwun,
Shuttlehouse still has some in their clearance section. They are only about $70US.
Hopefully they have some left your size.
I bought a couple based on this thread. Despite my comments above about them not being as wide as I expected, they actually 'play' very well and I've had no complaints.Last edited by Fidget; 06-30-2010 at 06:55 PM.

i love my SHB80W. but unfortunately it is reaching the end of its life. i can already reach the inner sole from the left-toe hole. it has served me well for more than a year of 2-3 times a week play. one of the most comfortable and feet fitting shoes i have worn.
unfortunately, shuttlehouse don't have anything in my size. i will have to try dig up my HK contacts...

I like how gorgeous it looks. Not flashy at all.

i'm surprised it looks exactly like my ultima 80 pro shoes except the 'power cushion' logo on the heel area of the mid sole. i thought the ultima 80 is the cheap copy of SHB-85. but it appears that it was totaly copied from this shoe. also the fitment of the ultima seems to fit my rather large feet
