    Hello all,

Just thought I'd post some pics of my new machine. Arrived over a week ago, finally had a chance to set it up only to discover it has the wrong plug (220V) :eek. Thus I have not strung any racquets on it yet.

    Rgds,
    MJ.

    Congrats MJ!!!!!!

Please do let us know how it turns out.

I am thinking of picking one up myself!!! :D:D:D

    GrandMaster Panda, please don't quit!!!
There are still many carbon bamboo fibres for you to digest!!!!

Just take a little vacation like GrandMaster Pete!!! :p

    Edit: Forgot to ask...
Is this the same machine as the Exthree- AMG SL65 (or whatever its called...) and the Gosen stringer?
I think I remember reading it was a badminton only stringing machine?

Thanks guys, I will keep you posted once I'm able to safely get some power to the machine

Yes, I believe it's the same as the Exthree.

While my current Alpha Axis is a great machine build wise, it will be nice to have a machine designed specifically for badminton.

Dan I don't think you could possibly quit badminton .... like the commercial says "It's in you".

Anyways, if you guys do decide to purchase, let me know I may be able to get you better pricing if you buy through me.

    Tks.
    MJ.

MJ, you can get an adaptor plug head that interfaces with the 220V plug head (220V goes on top of 110V). You might consider searching in Chinatown or Chinese malls.

Don't forget to flip the voltage selector from 220V to 110V .

But the Panda cannot quit badminton. That just could not happen, it's not natural.

By the way, nice machine. Enjoy stringing on it, when you finally get round to it

this might turn out to be the perfect machine for badminton stringing. sounds like it will become the machine of choice for the hardest of hardcore stringers in the forum.

please do post some updates after you have it running.

    update

Finally got the power issue sorted out (used a transformer) and strung a racquet last night. Here are some quick first impressions:

    • Took me 1.5 hours to string the racquet , ofcourse I expected an adjustment period it may take a bit longer than expected to get familliar with the machine

    • The turntable is super sensitive, so it keeps moving which makes weaving difficult ....

    • On the plus side, the clamps are really superb. Very stable and smooth locking system. A kewl feature is once you release the clamp and it falls to the base, the lock is automatically released.

    • The mounting system is also good, thought it did take me some time to mount the racquet correctly. String job was low tension (23 lbs) but the mounts secured the racquet very well. Also no obstruction, so the clamps are free to move into tight spaces.

    • Pre-stretch - I set it at 5%. This is a really like this option, alsong with the constant pull.

Anyways, I will give more detailed feedback later when I have more time. Hopefully I can shave the stringing time in half on the next racquet.

    MJ.

I was just wondering the price too but I appreciate that you may not want to answer.

I bet you could fit a Shuttle Express in your flat, Dreamzz.

Couldn't you have just used the brake when you were weaving so the turntable wouldn't move?

    2 things.
    1) did you loop the string over the drum?
    2) Why not weave the cross while the previous cross is still on tension head? Then the turn table will not move...
Nice machine. No wonder you are broke...

Master RSX, please try out a 30 lbs string job and report back how secure the mounting system is:

    • linear movement of the frame main & cross wise (shortening, lengthening, widening and narrowing of the frame)
    • rotational movement of the frame (clockwise and counter clockwise)
    • sound from a frame under high tension (click click . . . )
    Thank you!

Just very pleasent string job without a rush @ 45 minutes. Because I used the tennis shoulder supports, the frame came out quite round .
