When i playing i notice my arm is too weak and when smash not enough fire power Any Ideas how to improve my arm strength?
bring your body foward with the smash and the faster you flick your wrist the faster the birdy will go
Hi - birdy is slang for shuttlecock, used by some folk. Smashing isn't just about strength, it is about using the correct technique. If you have great strength and incorrect technique you may well injure yourself (shoulder probably). Have a look on the internet (Youtube is very good) for videos. Personally I don't much like Expert Village, but that's just my opinion. Without doubt your best bet is to spend time with a good coach.
There is a junior county player I know that can't weigh more than 8 stone (112 pounds) with all her kit on, and she clears and smashes excellently. Technique, not strength.
Even better if you're tall. The more angle you can get, the faster it is. Think gravity and the distance from your hit to the ground. And there's also the fact that the better you can transfer your weight from your feet to your legs, then to your hips, then to your arm, and then the racquet, the more powerful it is.
i'd focus on correct technique. badmintonbible.com and youtube has lots of good stuff you can find. focus on correct grip and pronation. i'm a skinny person, and my smash isn't terrible. it's all the the timing and technique.
She's two years younger than you at 14, and an awesome striker of the shuttle. No way I'm playing her at singles!
definatley, relaxed forehand grip, possibly shifted a little to the panhandle... this should do the trick
