Yup, I'm still waiting for more than 51% entries from BC,
You'll need to bring over 100 BC players to come down !!!
This year may be last year the BC have a chance to win
all A-Flight events, hehe. Coach Raju will recover from
his knee surgery and we'll have a new female coach later
this year.
Actually, I thought VRC is trying to organize a bigger group
than Break-My-String group...

It does not make sense for you to drive from Seattle to Vancouver and back to Seattle for the tournament.
Just stop over on Friday, play in the tournament
Friday/Saturday/Sunday and hang out with all the
Washington and BC players, there're players
from California also.
As far as requesting partners wise, we'll see what we can do.
Female mixed partners may be hard to come by though.

Wow, how many groups from Vancouver are playing?
I agree with clinton, however it will just be tiring after the drive, since
its a 14 hours drive from Fresno. Therefore we don't think its possible to
just jump in and play right away. We are however looking at leaving thursday
after work also. We are certain that we are playing in the WA State Open,
and this trip is basically center around badminton in Vancouver.
Is anybody playing in B-flight?

There're over 50 players from Vancouver playing in the tournament last few years. Break-My-String has been
bringing more players each year.
The tournament is drop-flight format, so you don't have to
worry about signing up the level.

Hi BC'ers,
Well it looks like theres a minor change in the travel date, 05/13-18. We are planning to
be in Vancouver on the 13 around 6pm and stay in Vancouver until the 16. We will be playing in the WA State Open on the 16 and stay until the 17 then head back home.
So looking forward to playing badminton in Vancouver on all the days up until the tourney, even on the 13. Hopefully we can meet-up and play badminton.
Clinton,
I am not familiar with the Drop Flight format tournament, so if we sign-up and we will, are we just automatically allocatted to the A-flight? I have an idea, but am still somewhat confuse can you help me with the details?

Drop flight format (assuming 4 flights A/B/C/D), basically, take two matches
to decide which flight you're in, you then keep playing until you lose or win the final. There may be some slight variation.
if Win 1st match
if win 2nd match
A
else
B
else
if win 2nd match
C
else
D

Thanks clinton.
So we've already register for WA State Open and looking forward to it.
Two more weeks and it is certain that the trip to Vancouver is going to happen,
although I've broken all my rackets. We will be in Vancouver on the on the 13th( around noon). Can any BC'ers kind enough to suggest were we can stay, that is close
to food and badminton?
So far our list of activities are:
1. play badminton
2. meet "new" badminton friends
3. food
4. dig for geoducks........optional
5. WA State Tournament
Hopefully we get a chance to see everybody in Vancouver or WA State Open.

It would be great if you can specify if you prefer a Five, Four, Three... "a half Star Hotel", or a even park bench as an accomodation.
If you can find place near Westminster Hwy & Minoru Blvd, in the City of Richmond, you can crawl to all three Richmond badminton facilities, and your knees won't even get dirty
Cheers!

Break-My-String,
I don't know about 5, 4, or 3 stars but as long as it keeps the badminton stuff dry its all good. We are looking at places in Richmond per your advise.
12 more days until badminton...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update:
So we've sign-up for the WA State Open and have found a place to keep our badminton stuff dry. So all that is left is playing at all the clubs in Vancouver for this trip, such as
VRC, Clear 1&2 and RichmondPro... The only bad thing is we will be visiting Vancouver on the weekdays so I don't know if there's any group that are playing or want to meet-up for badminton.
Clinton,
Can we pay at the door?

Hi fellas, I'm cvanbui's younger brother. Well this is our plans as of now. My brother and I will be in Vancouver hopefully by Wednesday afternoon, May 13th. We'll be in Vancouver until Saturday afternoon and then we'll be heading to WA for the tournament. So if anyone has the time to meet up and play some badminton or get some food, please let us know.

Pete,
We are badminton fanatics so I am sure if this trip is cool, we will likely return to Vancouver again, and hopefully we can play.
Looks like we will be in on Thursday because so its one day off from what we would like.
So we are still looking for groups to join, and it doesn't matter is its doubles or singles
we play both.
