It's a different.
X2 Gold: initial few millimeters of bend is very stiff, then tapers off/stays consistent.
Ultra: initial few millimeters of bend is not as stiff but gets progressively stiffer more predictable (for me).
Overall ultimate stiffness is comparable, hard to say one is stiffer than the other. I'd need both rackets side by side in the same weight. Incidentally, in this comparison it's an 85.5g Ultra to a 93g X2 Gold.
But as with any racket, once you "break-in" the shaft, all of them become more flexy.
