i cannot remember the exact dates, but is definitely less than 8 months. and i use it only once a week. Stringing service is done by the original stringer (who string my racket the very first time when i bought from Derrick)

Yeah, that was rather a clean cut. Factory defect I assume?

Not sure why you'd assume that?
It's broken at a common weak point (2-3 o'clock), and at a grommet - that's pretty standard.
Plus, there are at least two big paint chips, so it has obviously been involved in a few clashes in its time.
I guess it's worth emailing the relevant person though (Derrick/Dan), to see what they say. If nothing else, they might give you a discount off your next racket, as a gesture of good will.
Anyway, I'm gutted for you - it's a horrible feeling when you break a nice racket.

Update
Still alive in SoCal going home tomorrow
Weather has been great in the high 70's
which is perfect as being a fair lad [Lots of Scottish] don't do well in the burn department.
Last couple days have been training with Coach Don and what a pleasure so knowledgeable and really cares. Really recommend if your out this way trying to sneak
in an hour or two with him.
My elbow and forearm are holding in there but sore which is understandable having tennis elbow. I was out on a walk being an early riser and stumbled across a Acupuncture and Chinese Massage place so never having been punctured before went in. The acupuncture was a piece of cake never felt most of them. The Chinese Massage was another story as a 90 lb Chinese lady beat the ? out of me. She had
the whole table rocking but not in a fun way. I almost said uncle a few times but was
my own fault as I told them in the typical Canadian way do what you got to do, I will be fine. My arm was swollen for a whole day after that and playing 2 hours later probably wasn't a good idea. Next day pain was out of my elbow to another place but
now back in to the elbow again today but feels a bit better.
Had the pleasure of meeting Panda's mom the other day and she treated us to a nice lunch. Such a sweetie, enjoyed chatting with her later while Panda got ready and answered his emails.
Food has been another big treat while down here and Panda has made sure we try something new each time out. Panda knows his food so have been letting him do all the ordering focusing on things I have never had. Funny though all the female employee's know him and are excited to see him. So either they know a big order is coming or our Panda is a bit of a flirt with the gals.
Too bad missed out being here for the arrival of the T Pro's by a few week. Would have been fun playing in the big box of them and trying them. Have met some nice friends of Panda's too so a nice added bonus getting to spend some time playing and dining with them. Facilities are nice here what a treat to play on such nice floors and playing with feathers all the time.
To people interested in secret rackets and bags Panda is making do I know information
about them maybe, guess some things are better left a secret.
Well time to go enjoy the warmth and sunshine.

Finally got the chance to use the Ultra Pro for a tad more time.
I have been using Yonex Cab30 for a while and kept two to three of them in my racket bag. After trying the Ultra Pro (weight 84.5g, BP 294) with an Ashaway .67 prototype string strung at 31lb, I might switch to the Pro because of its lighter weight and higher maneuverability. The hitting feeling is pretty crisp and the control was great without sacrifice in power. For double games, this is definitely better than the beloved Cab30. In sum, it is a great racket especially for those who want everything...

Yea in fact it was involved in 2 clash. but it survived with only paint chip. Nevertheless i have contacted derrick, wil be sending the racket down to him over the weekends. Objective is not to assess the damage and why it happen. Of course if i get a 1 to 1 exchange or a good discount off my next racket will be fantastic.
Cheermate
(NOw i got all my time with Miss precision wahahaha)

ormy4,
Sounds like Dan is treating you royally!
Hope you brought him some maple syrup or a mountie hat.
How about some pictures for your shivering countrymen?
eg. The Panda cave, palm trees, the food, ... the 90lb kickbutt masseuse.
