Reasonable draw for INA. This makes sure that they can test CHN in group stage and avoid them until the Final (if both teams make it).

we'll be in semifinal most definitely...BUT...not too sure if we can make it to the final...we havent got strong WS or WD even our MS isnt that strong (compared to LD, LCW)...we'll most likely be facing korea in semis...need i remind you what had happened during TC in JKT?...we'll jst have to hope for the best i guess...but i have a feeling we'll be runner ups again this year :D

Any team from g1 who made to semi ( or quarter) should have a tough journey.
BAdmania, reasonable draw for indo eh? It's unlikely for Malaysia, though.

Good luck, Malaysia! We can if we think we can.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s hopes of making the semi-finals for the first time in the Sudirman Cup will hinge on the performance of the men’s doubles players.

And Koo Kien Keat is determined to live up to expectations with his partner Tan Boon Heong in the world mixed team event, which will be held in Guangzhou from May 10-17.
Based on the draw released by the World Badminton Federation (BWF) yesterday, fourth seeded Malaysia are in Group A of Division One with top seeds Denmark, South Korea and Hong Kong.

In Group B are Indonesia, defending champions China, England and Japan.

    Full story from The Star

    ********************************************
Malaysia is in the same group as Denmark and Korea.

Against Denmark, Malaysia will rely on MS, MD and WD to deliver.
Against Korea, Malaysia can steal points from MS, MD and WS.

Prediction pts for INA in stage preliminary round: against JPN ( i think we can manage to win all of the tie, based on wr and everything, tougher in WS, WD and MD); against ENG (MS, WS, MD, WD should win, XD 55%); CHN ( depend on coach strategy, if we want to test with full team or just send the 2nd tiers to gain experience, either way sf is on the way).....

I think INA will have a mixed strategy against CHN. On some disciplines, they will want to throw their best, while for some, they will reserve their power and use the reserves to earn them some valuable ranking pts.

My take on the team composition against CHN:
XD -- Fran Kurniawan/Liliyana Natsir (to confuse CHN and perhaps test He Hanbin/Yu Yang)
WS -- Maria Kristin Yulianti (test any of the players thrown in)
MS -- Sony Dwi Kuncoro (to test Lin Dan)
WD -- Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii
    MD -- Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan

For JPN and ENG, INA has to throw the best team.

I doubt it. ENG have little chance, they effectivley are two down from the Singles, meaning they have to win all of MD, XD and WD. MD & XD is doable if the best play well, but WD are also a giveaway point...

Japan give away there XD, but are underdogs in each event. MS could spring suprise, as could MD. WD is the closest. JP WS also not on form.

INA vs ENG -- 11 May (Monday)
XD: Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir vs Anthony Clark/Donna Kellogg -- this one will be 50-50, given the ENG pair's numerous victories over the INA pair. I think this is one of the point that ENG can steal from INA.

WS: Adriyanti Firdasari vs Elizabeth Cann -- this one should belong to INA.

MS: Simon Santoso vs Andrew Smith -- no doubt about it, INA should also take this one.

WD: Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii vs Gabrielle White/Jenny Wallwork -- again, there's no reason why INA will drop this one.

MD: Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan or Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs Nathan Robertson/Anthony Clark -- I hope Bona/Ahsan or Rian/Yoke will be fielded in the match against ENG. If the scoreline is 3-1 to INA, there's no harm in fielding them for the sake of gaining ranking points for WC seeding.
