i'm talking about during the game, in one rally, how many jump smash can you consistently making it. For the start I can only do like 3. The max, the third one sometime it's alittle bit weaker than the first 2. And if they happen to lift one more time, i'll just drop so that I don't want to be in defensive mode. I'm talking about double, single game I don't think we smash that much do we? Unless like middle court lift.
ehh i could do more maybe 5/6 but your not sapose to.. waste of energy just smash enough that they keep moving back then you jump/drop
I think my max was set today: 4. It really is a waste of energy and this was in doubles. I think in singles was 2 because it usually ends after a few. I think smashing is enough though, and plus, if it were in singles, there's really no point for smashing. Tiring out another player will probably end up giving you more points in the long run than wasting your effort with the jumps.
You should never play the same shots more than 2 or 3 times. Mixing it up is the best way to keep your opponent moving. I normally run patterns such as 2 smashes 1 drop for doubles. Singles is different all together. Normally i don't smash more than once unless its an easy half court lift and i have plenty of time. Most of the stronger players don't lift off a smash in singles so 1 smash is the most you normally get. by the way are you talking about in a row? or all up in the 1 rally? in a row is what i explained. In the 1 rally its hard to tell lol...depends how good you and your opponent are to get a lengthy rally going.
I can only do 4 in a row. The fourth one is usually a giveaway as my strength is most likely down to 40%. But if I am varying my shots between the drops and smashes....maybe up to 6. Have only tried that a few times. Usually I get the point or I lose the point by the 3rd smash...Yeah I know...I suck.
If it's doubles, as long as I' am dealing with easy high lifts that I don't need much moving for, I can go for a 5th. Then again I' am more the front player and 'conserve' my energy for these kind of moments.
well while doing drills for jump smashes where i have someone feeding me and it is smash after smash, I am able to do 4-5 nice ones (power slowly drops off at 4 during first round) and then 5+ it gets harder to get the air, power, and angle to the shots
LOL! That's quite impressive. But during tourneys etc, I think we are only able to do 3 in a row. After that, the returns changes and the drives and drops starts coming in.
And why would you even do more than 4 jump smashes in row in a game. You should drop or chop after a while, never clear. Even though I like the idea, this thread is kinda pointless: depending on the level, quality of the shots of your opponents and your own quality of jump smashes; the results will never be the same. Rest assured I could never imagine to reproduce Zhao's smash angles consistently!
As many as I need to. Generally, if I jumpsmash, I only need one - if your opponent is able to put it back, you're often in trouble. I'd imagine I could do quite a few but IMO, the percentage of jumpsmashes you make that are winners is more important than how many you can do.
yea i guess, i should change the topic, should be like consistently in training. =) and wow to people who able to do 5 or 6 at the same quality. I meant the hardest okay? dont just like oh yea i did jump and i did smash but that little girl able to return it, and so on I keep continuously on with my jump smash... that is not coolllll
oh and please whoever view this please at least put down a number, cuz whoever looking around in this forum is a badminton player. So please let us know, share the love. =)
lol ok if we are talking about jump smashes in a row i pulled off 12 last night when i played with some friends. By the 10th one i was struggling but all of them were consistant with where i was hitting them and with the power i was putting out. The 12th one found the net We were not playing a game but were doubles attacking training. 2 vs 1 halfcourt. the 1 person was defending. Normally id mix it in with smash smash drop or drop drop smash. But thought id give him a test and pushed myself lol
I'm honestly shocked, I mean shocked, because I do believe BRADMYSTER is super buff. I guess that tells me i'm way out of shape.
Even if I were just training, if I could do 10 in a row with the same amount of strength and accuracy, I'd own my whole team. Well-- stamina-wise.
