EBT Berlin looked like on a way to a first championship this season with Wong Chong Hann as new number one. Unfortunately backup Chetan Anand was not allowed to participate in the same match as there is only one open spot for non-EU players according to the regulations. In Game 1 of the Finals defending champion Bischmisheim surprised host Berlin by stealing the first game 5-3 after trailing 1-3. In Game 2 Berlin cruised to an early 4-0 lead behind 2 points from Wong Chong Hann. But Xu Huaiwen said Good Bye in style and defeated Juliane Schenk in a classy match 26-24 in the third to stop Berlin´s run. The momentum switched and Bischmisheim took the last three points. Congratulations Bischmisheim, Bundesliga Champion 2009! 01.05.2009 Game 1 SG EBT Berlin - 1.BC Bischmisheim 3-5 03.05.2009 Game 2 1.BC Bischmisheim - SG EBT Berlin 4-4
